Harry Nilsson wrote one? I never knew that. I remember that song too. I also remember day after day from the very early '70s. George Harrison produced that.

Love this song. Merle was so good.

Dead did a cover to it, in their early years. Jerry loved the Bakersfield sound (Merle, Buck Owens, ...) Particularly Don Rich who was Bucks guitarist.


You can really hear it in their cover of Big River.


Edit: I know Big River is Johnny Cash, but Jerry's guitar style is exactly like Rich's
