Got the "I spent the summer with a Busted Leg Blues"

Townes learned finger picking listening to Lightnin' Hopkins records and later playing with him around Houston

Makes you smile Blues

1] Hasn't that healed by now?

2] I'll go out on a limb and say you like the blues.

I think I mentioned this previously.

I saw these two at Michigan's Pine Knob amphitheater in '78 or '79.

They opened for James Taylor, if you can believe that.

Were you around when this came out ('73)?

What a weird f***ing song!

I loved it, though I had no clue what it was about. I still don't. I'm guessing the same was true for Elton.

The single's B-side, "Harmony," was a great favorite of my older brother Michael. He played it endlessly. Like, seventeen times in a row,

1) I got a two for one deal, a bone in the foot and bottom of my leg. 6 to 8 weeks was the original estimate. It was my right foot so couldn't drive.

After 8 weeks Doc said it still needed more time. Gave me an ankle brace and a bottle of milk. Asked him if I could drive, He said O.K. if it didn't hurt. Told him I already was, using left foot for braking. He just shook his head.

Two weeks ago he cleared me. Thought he'd send me to PT, said no just walk on it. A lot.

"And Mr. Data."

"Sir?"

"Nicely done."

Back in my anything but punk sucks days, my buddies and I had a routine that went something like this:

"Who sings this song?"
"Simply Red."
"More like Simply Boring."
"Or Simply Awful."

I was, obviously, never "anything but punk sucks." Mick Hucknall was, and remains, one of the finest blue eyed soul singers ever.

I bet your pals had fun with William Alucard, too. Viva la Steve Stevens!

Hell, I had one friend who thought Tom Petty sucked. Even I had to blast him on that one. I implored him to "Name one bad Tom Petty song! Just one!" He couldn't.
