Anyway, it seems you like gangster movies and cop dramas quite a lot.

Wow, we have different tastes . . . But I liked The Shawshank Redemption - good inclusion.

Have you seen Grosse Point Blank? That to me is a top film everyone should like :)

I have seen Grosse Point Blank, but I dunno, it didn't really speak to me. Maybe it's because I am not a huge fan of John Cusack being the lead.

Is it just me or has the pickings for movies been rather weak this year? Other than the Peanuts movie I can't think of another movie that I was excited to see this year.

I'm watching a movie called The Perfect Guy, it's a drama/thriller. Decided to give ti a watch when I saw Sanaa Lathan, Michael Ealy and Morris Chestnut were the main stars of the movie and they are 3 of my favorite actors (or actress in Sanaa's case)

I saw that earlier this year. Didn't like it.

I finished the movie tonight at work and I liked it but I didn't. I thought the acting was on point, especially Ealy but the script wasn't very good.

Inside Out, Ant-Man, Straight Outta Compton, Ex-Machina, Fury Road, Spy (yes, that one with Melissa McCarthy), Kingsman: Secret Service, Southpaw, Creed, Spotlight and of course STAR WARS.

2015 was great for movies. The Hateful Eight is still coming too.

You were excited to see Peanuts? I wasn't lol, they lose some charm to be going to 3d. Kinda like the chipmunks and Garfield :P Maybe I'm just old and prefer them in their original states lol.

That being said I thought there were quite a few "big" movies this year.

Butler mentioned a bunch but I also liked Mad Max, Mission Impossible, Marvel Ultron, Jurassic World (entertaining despite plot holes), Furious 7, Dragonball Z F (awesome btw),

Some blockbusters like Insurgents and Hunger games for some people?

So yeah I think it was just you :P (Or are you one of these critic types?)

mfw a posters only movie worth getting excited for is the Peanuts Movie

I think to me "big" movies more often than not are recycled commercial garbage to me. I'm also not too big into action flicks soo ones like Mad Max just don't do it for me, I'm not into the MI movies, not a Cruise fan at all. Marvel movies are good for downloads, but nothing I get excited about. Jurassic World didn't stand out for me either, maybe because I didn't like the originals. Furious 7.... **** I wish those god awful movies would have stopped after the first one and anime is definitely not something I am into.

Also Peanuts wasn't done anything like Garfield or the Chipmunks, so that isn't a good comparison as they kept it animated. I can't comment on the quality of the movie yet as I haven't been able to see it yet. But keeping it animated rather than going live action was very important to me.

I did forget about Straight Outta Compton though, I wanted to see it as well but never got to because I got laid off just prior to it's release and couldn't justify spending money going to see it. But it was the only one on the list that Butler poster that appealed to me at all.

SPOILERS:

END OF SPOILERS

It was pretty great, tbh.

5, 7, 4, 3, 6, 2, 1

5, 4, 6, 7, 3, 2, 1 for me. There was a lot recycled from A New Hope. 6 is good, my least favorite of the originals, but it also concludes the arc done by the first 6 films really well. Depending on how the next two films are, I could see 7 passing 6 for me, it set things up really well, so that will depend.

I'm also of the opinion Episode VIII in 2017 may actually rival empire strikes back. The groundwork was laid here, and Rian Johnson is soo good. Most aren't too familiar with his work but he is so talented he could pull out some seriously good stuff and I think he will. I think the next movie will blow Force Awakens out of the water

Watched Straight Outta Compton last night and tonight at work. I loved it. Two small things really amused me.

1) Ice Cube saying "bye Felicia" in the one hotel scene.
2) When 'Pac is in the booth and Dre brings California Love for 'Pac to work on he is laying down Hail Mary which was a Dr. Dre dis song.

edit: I don't know what I was thinking but Hail Mary isn't the dis song, Toss it Up is.

I watched the Star Wars tonight, finally. Enjoyed it. Found some parts contrived, but overall it was fantastic. Felt like the movies of old.

Seriously Suits is so good. I'm almost done season 4, it's taken a few weeks but what a great show. Also to note, my Scotch intake over the last few weeks has dramatically rose.
