OT: The Movie/TV/Streaming Thread

I am too. Did you try the Perry Mason HBO reboot of all things? It's right down that alley. Loved it.

Some other recent noir shows that I enjoyed were Goliath and Ripley.

Goliath starts out as kind of a mediocre Hollywood procedural, but seasons 3 and 4 really amp up into surrealism and neo-noir.

Favorite Femme Fatale ( old school)

Gloria Grahame
Jane Greer
Lizabeth Scott
And of course, perhaps my favorite actress, Barbara Stanwyck. Check out her pre-code movies, femme fatale before Femme Fatales.

Most endearing was Peggy Cummins, an Irish actress, in her one and only appearance in a Noir, Gun Crazy. The scene at the carnival of her shooting her guns between her legs….ooh……she soon left Hollywood and went back to Ireland.

I really enjoyed Ripley. The story was great, the acting was great and it was just beautiful to look at. Really amazing cinematography. I don’t know if anyone mentioned the series Monsieur Spade (I’m new here). I saw it on Netflix. I think it’s an AMC show. It stars Clive Owen as Sam Spade retired in France. If you’re into noir you’ll like it. It’s a real throwback.
