I saw it was going to be on. Alas, I did not watch. I saw it again a handful of years ago. I like my pre-TWBB Paul Thomas Anderson the best, but TWBB makes me weak-kneed. Masterpieces — capital ‘M’ — come around less often these days. The fact No Country For Old Men was the same year is bonkers.

TWBB is better. Just sayin.

I don’t know if I can even say one is better because they scratch way different itches. TWBB is more sprawling and aims for a higher level of art. But I’ve seen No Country a handful more times because it’s inherently more watchable (not a judgment thing; it just is). It’s ruthlessly efficient in pace and plot; I don’t think it’s any less reflective or thoughtfully complex. Combining Coen and McCarthy is just not fair. It’s a marvel in how it works within its tidy structure.

Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford was 2007 too and I think it's just as good as both TWBB and No Country. 07 was an unreal year for cinema.

Saw John Wick 4 last night.

Felt like it was twice as long as it needed to be. Overall, it was decent, but just dragged on.

It felt like the movie was setting up Akira for her own spinoff in the JW universe. Would be interesting.

For those who watch Yellowstone..the most horrible caricature in the show is Teeter IMO. Just outright silly...

Otherwise, really enjoying it and "most" of the characters. Up to season 4 now

We are late in season 3. Last episode I watched was Teeter and the boys getting revenge on those 2 guys. That episode was something. That scene with Monica as well. The dude deserved it tho

She’s actually my favorite character lol

They’re going to make him a master of disguise instead of a monster aren’t they.

Monica is the WORST by a country mile. Just a boring, dull, miserable sack.
Teeter not Monica. Who’s Monica? What’s his names wife? Worst character on the show, and a strong contender for top 10 worst character all time

Damn it. I quoted the wrong person.

Also, I thought i was in the entertainment forum for some reason.

I'm in shambles here. But yes, she's one of my least favorite characters in any show or movie ever. She's just the worst.

How the hell is that going to work? It's an ultra-realistic universe. Clayface is a supernatural character. Who is next? Man-Bat? Killer Croc?

I’m going to guess that Clayface is more in the original mold, where he was just a murderous actor who wore a costume.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind my Batman more supernatural than the ultra realistic vibe we’ve had for 2 decades. There’s other interesting things to the canon, while still being dark and atmospheric, than Fincher serial killers on loop. But that’s not happening.

Yeah a supernatural Batverse would be a lot of fun for sure.

Chuck The Flatulator....
Thank you. Terrible character. Terrible.
Annoying character for me mostly..

The indian casino owner is also annoying. Him searching for that missing girl in a full up suit was laughable...

Also not much of a fan of Kayce...

Rip is cool though..

Someone smarter than me could make a really compelling essay centered on those three films, what they say about the mythology of the American West, the American Dream, masculinity, etc.

As for films to watch when I just want to be entertained, in no particular order:

Big Trouble in Little China (3rd vote for this one, right?)
Clue
The Last of the Mohicans
