Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was amazing. Already want to see it again
I enjoyed it but at the same time feel like I don’t remember much of what happened, and was disappointed with the ending.
A two and a half hour movie shouldn’t end that way.I think these two films have easily been the most creative of all of the super hero films. It feels like watching a comic book in the best possible way.
The packed theater I watched it in absolutely erupted in agony at the end. I didn't mind it at all. It had a clearcut thematic ending.

At the same time, it did not feel like a two and a half hour long movie. That thing moved.
How is it any different than, say, The Empire Strikes Back? Sure, it's a cliffhanger, but it has a clear thematic ending. It's a dangerous time, but they've grown up and their fate is now in their own hands. And the table is set for what I hope is a thrilling ending of a surprisingly great trilogy. I was fully on board with how it ended and I laughed heartily at the meltdowns that were happening all around me.
I never understood the Skyler vitriol.
Damn, that's a shame. I was looking forward to that one. Was it visually compelling at least?Asteroid City...
what a disappointment. Like a Tiktok parody of a Wes Anderson film.
Watched it today on first day of release in the Netherlands.
His worst by a mile.
Too many scenes, too many characters, very little substance, or emotion, or character development... and very few laughs even. Slow and really did not capture me at all. And the dialogue was so forced and unlike his usual stuff. A lot of good actors giving wooden performances is a pretty great indicator of a poor script and mediocre direction... which is shocking really for him.

We don't need live action shows of good anime. After the Cowboy Bebop disaster I have no hope for this one. @Captain Dave Poulin
Apparently Hollywood f***ed that one up. It had a completely different direction. What, no love for the live action dbz?

I shall unite with you in this mission. I'm sick of these live action remakes that are garbage.Did they film that in f***ing English? I am going to kill someone.
For the most part visually beautiful. As expected. But just does not have many redeeming features apart from that for me. And I am a MASSIVE fan of pretty much all his other work.
I quite liked the French Dispatch... but thought it was the weakest film he had made since, well, maybe Bottle Rocket! But yeh, I think this one just totally fails really.

Wait, are you shitting on Bottle Rocket here? Because if you're shitting on Bottle Rocket, well, ya know I love ya and all, but that makes your Asteroid City take suspect.
I don't know anime at all, but that shit looks awful.
Well, ok then. But Bottle Rocket is a top 5 or 6 WA film in my book.I love Bottle Rocket! Like an 8/10 film for me aha. But up until The French Dispatch I would say everything he had ever made was 8/10 and Bottle Rocket while amazing is, well, yeh... a shoe-string production where I dont think he could really do everything he wanted.
