speaking of bars..i miss Eulogy

Eulogy was our start and finish of our olde city bar crawl route in school. Also not there anymore, but there was this basement dive just north of market called sugar mom’s (momma’s???).

But is anyone familiar with the term “gob”. I was born in Pittsburgh and I’ve always known whoopie pie by that term.

Yep, Sugar Mom’s. The sign just said “Sugar’s”. 2nd and Church. Punk bar in the basement. Loved that place. One of my best friends worked there when she was in undergrad.

I have two very vivid memories of this place…


One: it was always an endcap to our nights in college and I was driving for this particular evening so stone sober. My guys stumble downstairs to the bar and ask for “the blackest shot you can give”. I can’t decide if I should let it ride or run away. Bar tender doesn’t hesitate and pours them all a double of Hennessy.

Also recall they had a drink called a Pink p***y. Highball glass of whatever flavored Stoli Vodka’s they wanted to mix with maybe a bit of sour mix and some cranberry for the pink. It incapacitated everyone involved.

Levante in West Chester makes/used to make one. It was pretty damn good. Haven't been drinking much beer lately so haven't kept up with what they've been putting out to know if they still make it or not

They sold the distribution rights in a process where they royally screwed over their employees. Distribution is now done…let’s just say not well. A buddy in the industry won’t work with the new network under any circumstances. Basically, good luck.
