With the leftover pork shoulder, made a stroganoff. Made a slurry, used the aus jus, added some milk to make a great tasting sauce. Threw in some cheese tortellini and pork. Sourdough garlic toast on the side.

A nice cheap meal I make is ground beef over egg noodles. Saute mushrooms in butter and marsala wine. brown the meat. Can of cream of mushroom soup. Sometimes add carrots. Jar of brown gravy.

Good eats on the cheap and fast to make.

But speaking of tomatoes, our grape tomato plants are going bonkers. Cherry tomato, basil leaf, fresh mozzarella chunk with a balsamic drizzle is an upper echelon snack food.

Listen here, tomatoes have their role and they are delicious. But they are more Steve Buscemi than they are Brad Pitt (don’t judge me on my choice of actors, they are the first to come to mind).

I also am displeased anytime I would use a tomato in lieu of a chicken breast. Or a slice of steak.
