Lunch from Macona for the second day in a row. I truly am getting it in before they close for good.

Brisket burnt end cheesesteaks on pretzel bao buns. Incredible.

Why in the holy f*** are they closing for? Their food looks amazing.

Found an article, they can’t afford to stay afloat. That sucks. If they weren’t in collinswood I’d swing by and get dinner tonight.

Sorry apple, that pizza looks like something our pizzas over here step on.

You like deep pan greasy crap? :thumbd:

Proper pizza oven + Neapolitan style pizza with fresh ingredients? The way to go. How pizza should be. Can savour every flavour then.

Honestly, I love pizza and have eaten from maybe 500 places in my life in 30+ countries.

Including ~5 places in Naples, ~10 in Rome, ~3 in and around Bergamo and ~2 on Capri. Hell, I was seeing an Italian girl on and off for over a year and she generally took me to best places when there.

Only 1-2 in Italy have been better. None outside of Italy.

The reason?

Fresh flour made every day using Caputo. Left to ferment for 24 hours+.
All ingredients flown in fresh 2-3x a week from Naples.
Including most of the veg grown on hills of Vesuvius, some of best soil on earth... as well as proper fresh cheese from Naples!

The result is that even the Margherita alone with nothing else. Insanely tasty. Tomatoes that explode with taste on your palette.

Hence why generally only ~3-5 Pizzeria's in entire USA come ahead of it on a year to year basis in worlds best pizza!

You see the stuff we post. None of what I eat pizza wise is made in a pan.

Ancoats in Manchester is kind of an historic "little Italy"... part of the reason is damn authentic and very good.

We have a L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele too... ran by same guys as run the famous one in Naples. And Rudy's is far better.
Send some my way and I’ll send some yours.

This is how pizza is supposed to be.

Don't listen to @Lord Defect. He probably prefers papa John's.
There doesn’t appear to be an ounce of love put into making that pizza. It looks like it was slopped together, and slide around while inside the box.
I can appreciate a papa johns of dominos for what they are, but I’d never seek one out with all the great places we have close by.

It was sadly Deliveroo'd! Looks far better ofc when have it in restaurant. But tastes just as good still.

There's nothing wrong with that pizza. It looks as authentic as a pizza can get. It's just not that nasty fake shit were used to over here.
