Is that a real club or just from the show?
That heater Allen is the boss around hereThe Puget Sound region has breweries that can hang too, but they don't have the distribution to put them out there. (Elysian doesn't count)
Makes it harder for those far and wide to check them out, unfortunately. Chuckanut, for example is damn near the Canadian border and is renowned for their work with lagers. Can finally get it in the PDX area the past year or two.
Heater Allen rules down in Oregon.
I'd love to have a drink-off with those two breweries and Jack's Abby over on your side, pure lager win. I hear Trillium actually does great lagers too but it's soooo hard to get that here.
Couldn’t find the post where you referenced blind pig as the boss Ipa but I think you are flirting with legacy there. I’ll take EX Novo Elliot hands down, I know to each their own but I have never been high on the blind pig. I’ll take backwoods and migration as well. And one is a Washington beer!Show.

Probably.....would another like... 3 minutes have killed you? Thats all it'd have taken
Was wondering where everyone's food pics are. Looks good....but yeah....just a few more minutes for me.
Why does the knife have a warning to not use it to cut off the head of a penis? What is gods name goes on in Canada?
To be fair, my mom's steak was about 25% smaller than mine. I cooked hers to a perfect medium rare and planned on mine being a bit under done. She said it was perfect, but I neglected to take a pic of hers. Was wondering where everyone's food pics are. Looks good....but yeah....just a few more minutes for me.

Let us know how it is. Thought about getting one of those as well.I got an Ooni pizza oven for Christmas. Anyone own one and have any specific pointers? Seems about as easy as it gets as far as the oven itself goes. Just need to dial in a good dough recipe and go to town.
After our feed of lobster last week....leftovers!Last night was beef tenderloin, potatoes au gratin, and truffled asparagus. Forgot to take pictures, but @Surrounded By Ahos would have been delighted with the doneness on the beef.
Here are the lobster rolls from Friday night though. Perfection.

Well, I'm certainly never looking at that knife the same way again.
Love Blind Pig myself partly due to it being such a clean, west coast pioneer. That said in the decades since I agree with you that more than a few others have caught up to it and Pliny in most ways.
Backwoods is great, even when they were brand-new they were cranking out great beers of many styles. I love it when breweries open in these podunk little towns but are successful and well regarded.
Look at Barley Brown's, I'd never even heard of Baker City OR but their Pallet Jack was my favorite IPA for awhile.
it is amazing how fast Backwoods blew up. Def one of my favorites and it is on the way up into Gifford Pinchot forest so killer location.
Barley browns is fantastic.... another obscure one is Bale Breaker up in Yakima. Everything from them is top notch.
Definitely, and in a great location too. Have you been to their brewery and taproom? It's surrounded by fields of hops. Wife and I went there just before that Hopfest that Yakima does every year, so most of it had already been harvested by then. Bet it would be a sight in early summer.
For those who didn't know, about 75% of all hops grown in the US come from the Yakima Valley, on the other side of the Cascades from me.
Since this is totally the craft beer thread.
