-one of the pillars of their top 4 d is an extremely flawed player (sure Matheson's icetime is excessive but they're not in a position to contend for a playoff spot with Struble or Xhekaj playing 20 mins per night).

-with Kapanen and Demidov on the roster and removing Price from the equation, if they make the playoffs, they will be the youngest team in the history of the league to do so.

i'm more than ok with the job St. Louis has done, even if i think Savard should have sat a little more this year.

FYI, the real reason Savard doesn't sit is that much is he's 6th in PK TOI on a team with a top-10 PK. Even if that's more on goaltending, no coach on the planet is going to mess with that too much.

Why do we have to have one coach anyway? Get Marty to buy into the project and tell him were ordering a new bench coach and a strategy coach, he can be the development coach or players coach. Were the richest team in the league, why do we play by the rules and why dont we have the absolute best personnel?

HuGo will always favor MSL over Xhekaj - simply put Arber is an undrafted player who doesn’t have USA Hockey pedigree to support him or viewed as having high end hockey IQ

This management team doesn’t give a f*ck what “da fans or media think” - w the team ahead of schedule competing for a playoff spot, strong prospect pool, and having lured Demigod from KHL gives them strong leverage position

The higher one goes.... they have an ego that drives them. The smart ones surround themselves with those that can get even better results.

I know first hand in business that great CEO's don't run multibillion dollar business by themselves. Their superpower is to hire the people that help drive the dream...with no fear that their throne can be challenged.

SMarty doesn't appear or may in fact, doesn't want anyone challenging him. A system coach is loooong overdue.

And the hard core realist is also the reason I'm raining on SMarty. There is absolutely no logical reason to play no talent, no points Pezz over a dozen better player. It's not like they have to travel cross country. Worse is that offense, that lousy one goal or one assist could of won us the Laffs game.

Sorry to break it to those who have it against Marty, Xhekaj is being scratched because he's not reliable enough defensively, makes bad decisions and isn't great at puck moving. Sure, he's better than Savard in some of those aspects but not in others, and Savard is a RD.

Bringing physicality is not enough to keep yourself in the lineup, when Savard is gone next season Reinbacher will replace him and so if Xhekaj doesn't improve he'll find himself in the same spot as this season, or traded for a 2C.

The PP was scorching when Laine joined the team in Dec, the league adjusted, as always happens.

NHLs a game of adjustments & readjustments - the top end players keep adjusting their game, which should happen for Demigod, but only time will tell
