The roster is weak and he has them over-achieving. That’s good coaching.
We weren’t expected to win points at this pt%. I think it’s only fair and fine to support him seeing out the season at his leisure and with his judgements.
Next year will bring a different roster and different expectations and standards. I don’t like seeing vets get away with bad play either but this is a run to get into an unlikely wildcard spot, the time for accountability and tinkering was earlier.
I came to accept a long time ago that there will be no coach that I will fully agree with. I also accept that there are certain internal dynamics that none of us are privy to but that's the element of helplessness that we all have as fans.
With that being said, it's not time for the coach to leave simply because there are things done thay I don't agree with.
From a player pov, that time should come when the players no longer buy what he's selling, or the message has gotten too stale.
From a management point of view, that time comes when the results on the ice are not meeting their internal expectations.
I don't think he is in danger either from a player or management pov yet, and the rest is all white noise that comes with the job.
