If all of us have concluded that Primeau isn’t an NHL capable G, I think MSL and his staff figured it out a while back…

Therrien alone is not enough, i heard MB would like another gig at GM.......c'mon Gorton fire both Hughes and MSL replace them with MB and MT.........now that would be drama :laugh::laugh:
 
I don't think it is as much a coaching issue as a management one. Gorton and Hughes made offseason moves that have hurt the team. Monahan and Kovacevic are the two who hurt the most. Their evaluations of Dach and Barron were wrong, neither is a suitable replacement for the guys who left. Newhook is another failed experiment, a nothing burger of a player who would be okay on a deep team but his weaknesses shine bright on a rebuilding one such as ours.

I am critical of MSL for two things, the complicated defensive system that we didn't need and for not being tough on veteran players by scratching them when they suck. It's only the entry level players who get punished. That won't gain him long term respect from the young guys when most of the dead weight is gone.

I predict Marty will resign from the team for personal reasons without getting fired.

There are no depth options at present - if you sit Dach or Slaf who plays? Pizzeria?

If Matheson sits which young D can step up and take his TOI, let alone the ripple effect of increased TOI for other Ds? I’m willing to bet both Matheson & Savard have been playing through non minor injuries for a while..

Way I look at it MSL is trying to manage “in da mix” expectations with a team that presently lacks NHL depth above & beyond the 12F, 7D & 1G presently available at his disposal

Roy not being able to step up & grab a roster spot, and Redenbacker’s injury has had an impact on this teams depth, let alone Laine being out for 6-weeks +

Gallagher-Dvo-Anderson have been quite good and outperforming opposition 3rd lines for majority of the season thus far…. but they’re 3rd liners.

Crosby-Rust-Rackell dominated last night …
 
I mean, we keep saying we’re a rebuilding team as an excuse but it’s been years and we’ve paid 1st round picks to acquire players and already had a lot of picks and prospects in stock.

So…we give up 1st rounders because we’re not trying to get better? I don’t get it.

I think this will be a painful rebuild.

The ironic thing about not being able criticize coaching since we aren’t coaches…Marty isn’t a coach either

He showed Caufield that fake shot cut back move. Some people never called the viagra “more then 4 hours” hotline after that I guess

St Patrick is right “the game has changed”, as Subban once said in response to MB saying he wants “players who hate to lose”.

Is it just coaching or is the players doing whatever they feel like doing as a group? We have seen quite a few lopsided blowout games league-wide this year.

Alain Vigneault
Joel Quenneville
Gerard Gallant
Benoit Groulx
Larry Robinson? Patrick Roy? These legends deserve more than being coaches - too valuable
Patrick Roy only if we have a winning/contending team

We missed out on Jim Montgomery.
I honestly like David Carle but he's American and doesn't speak french.
No candidates from Q or NCAA or AHL?
