Dubas is hardly the only one or main one to blame for this achievement in failure, even if he’s f***ed up this current iteration of the team beyond repair.

He probably had the most talent at his hands .

Signing JT is on him, knowing that he had 3 talented young stars to sign .

He never worried about getting a strong defence , ( which at that time we didn't have ).

He had a different vision than most people in the NHL half your cap in 4 players .

Here we are today still trying to build a team .

Yes this is on him and management

We just have to Live with the jokes .

Thanks

Canucks fan saying we'd be happy with a drought long as we'd have actually won once. :) You guys at least have a rich history !!
Atleast 75% of leaf fans on this board haven't seen a single cup

Most leaf fans are in similar boat as Nuck fans except we've got a 17 year no playoff series win streak going on as well.

Canucks had deep runs and almost won in 2011 atleast

I hear ya it's been tough for both franchises. Hopefully we both get to celebrate a win one day.

well... we sure do suck.

it'll only get harder too as that tavares contract isn't going to age well... 11 million for tavares is ridiculous, and with another 11 million on marner, that's a lot of either dead capspace in marner's case, or bloated cap space in JT's case.

meanwhile TB has blake f'ing coleman at 50 dollars producing as much as marner does.

im going to start a petition to remove the 80s from the amount of days we have gone without a cup, since we didnt even ice an NHL quality team for 10 years with ballard running things

And we haven’t even made it to the finals once in that time, so we’ve also got the longest “no finals appearances” drought of all time (53 seasons)!

Also, we’ve currently got the 2nd longest active “no playoff series win” drought (16 seasons for us, 24 for the Panthers), and are tied for 7th longest all time. If we fail to win a round once again next year, we’ll be tied for 5th longest all time.

We'll get em next year

I'm confident that with this core we can overtake the Panthers for the longest active no playoff series win drought.

Were the leafs not a rich team back then? There was no salary cap so they should've had an amazing team. Why were they so bad?

I didn't watch any hockey in the 80s so I honestly have no clue.

I’m gonna start a petition to boycott the purchase of all Leafs merchandise. People will still want to attend or watch but fans should send a message with a massive boycott on merchandise
