I have been. The fact that he hasn't (to the best of my knowledge) been mentioned at all from management is disrespectful and the fact that he wasn't Cup chasing but willing to sign with a team that is in a comparable position or worse than Vancouver also says something.

I think there was one article from iMac summing up his time in Vancouver and that's been it.

I'm sure there'll be a nice ceremony when Edler comes back December 6, but the fact no one is really wanting to talk about Edler at all is really weird (again, unless I've completely missed something.)

It is wild.

drafted by the team, has played every game of his career here. All we hear, every year, is that he’s not going to waive his NTC and will retire here. Is 4th all time in games played for the franchise behind the Sedins and Linden.

And then all of a sudden he would rather be anywhere else, and signs with the lowly Kings of all teams, and not a peep from anybody about it.

We literally have no room for him. He was given a offer, Im sure it was in the low 2, high 1 range and he decided he wanted to go make double that in LA

I really hope I’m wrong about how *average* I think this team is. I hope OEL has been secretly suppressing how elite he is for five years, Poolman is secretly Tanev, everything else they need to go right goes right.

Anyone with a brain can see what will likely go down IF things go poorly. Winning can mend a lot of things. If we don’t win, the mass exodus and the ensuing reset of trying to play the lottery game and more fake hope and everything is just completely undesirable.

Interesting. To me, the path of a hard reset is the only real path forward.

If the team wins, owner and manager stay in place, more future earth is scorched to try and make it the next year.

If the team loses, owner and manager are potentially ousted, and a firm grasp toward the future is made. Not fake hope, but actually hope. What they're doing now is the fake hope.

I've never been a tankist. Will not cheer for my team to lose, but I understand that losing, and losing a lot is the only way toward real change in management. Undesirable as it may be.

"We wanted to hear what the Canucks had to offer and that was the threshold," Stowe said. "Then having seen what they offered, and nothing regarding their offer that was offensive or anything like that, it came back to whether he wanted to stay or not. And given the dynamics of the timing and his age I think that was the turning point. Once he decided to move on, I advised the Canucks that he would be doing so and there's no more negotiations at this time."

And? in the end he makes quite a bit more money for a 1 year move. Its like saying would you want to make 50k in Vancouver or 100k in LA both cities have there perks with LA being quite a bit cheaper and honestly a better place to live during the winter

his agent literally said “VAN made a good offer but edler doesn’t want to be here anymore.” That should be utterly mind blowing. That would have been unthinkable even one year prior.

You were clearly making a distinction between 'playoff team' and 'taking a step back.' Even if you weren't, the Canucks were a 17th place team, so taking a step back would've meant them going from being in the playoff race to being out of it, unless there's some mystical interpretation of 'taking a step back' that I'm not getting.

So either way your statement doesn't make any sense.
I had no idea that i said they were a playoff team (until you brought it up)..Anyway, I accept that I posted it..
Here I said they would be taking a step back post #636..

Source?
The agent straight up said that the contract offer was good enough that it just came down to him wanting to leave.

He said this before free agency even started, so unless he's psychic it's unlikely that the LA offer, and LA being a preferable place to live, and whatever else was a factor in this decision.

again he never said that he said it wasn't an offensive offer. Can people actually use the direct quote instead of making up what his agent actually said

thr quote was literally just posted. How daft are you?

I dont see those exact word anywhere in the paragraph but im clearly the daft one. You are paraphasing something his agent didnt say...

nothing regarding their offer that was offensive or anything like that, it came back to whether he wanted to stay or not.
how else can you read this?

it came down to whether he wanted to stay or not. It’s right there in plain text.

You are the one who is claiming that the decision was based on LA being more affordable, and LA's offer being better when this was said before free agency even started. It isn't anyone else who is making things up.

Read what you said you said it was a good offer something his agent never said. His agent said it wasnt offensive not that it was a good offer. He left obviously because he got a better offer and for some reason people cant believe that he went to pad his retirement fund

That quote from his agent came before the free agency period opened.

he decided he wanted to leave before he knew what offers would look like. Because he didn’t want to stay. Like his agent said. Are you familiar with Occam’s razor?
