Holloway has more G/min this season than even Connor McDavid. Take how you will Oilers fans.

Holloway also has more EVG than McDavid this season. Sobering.

Not sure why everyone is complaining. You take Skinner, Arv plus Janmark you get 20 goals as well. 3 players , 8.5 mil in salary. That's all, no biggie. Just griping.

No this is a case of them like most of the fans here not valuing prospects and ypung players at all and it is still happening. Fans saying we need to win now and wanting to empty the cupboards including savoie to get players that may have no chemistry here. We lost Kesselring for a dismal showing of Bjugstad. We lost good assets for a dismal showing of Anasthaou. It was a no brainer that Holloway would pass Henrique and Janmark this year in terms of effectiveness. Even if it was not going to be in points just the speed and hitting and forecheck is whatvis lacking here. Young players with good pedigree increase in effectiveness leaps and bounds one year to the next while the 33+ old players decrease year over year. We are seeing that with Ekholm now unfortunately

St Louis isn’t stupid enough to move a big, fast, 23 year old who can score. 20 goals, 46 points so far.

Doug Armstrong and Jeff Jackson in the same room…Jackson is definitely NOT the smartest person even though he probably thinks he is.

You’re not putting that egg back together.

Team should have at least swallowed their pride on Holloway. Getting a 3rd for him was a complete joke and his contract was easy to fit in. I could understand not matching on Broberg but even then I would have matched and found a way to make the cap work like every other team seems to do.

I'm on record saying that Oilers would get less scoring from Skinner, Pods, Arvid than they got from Foegele, McLeod, Holloway. This was predictable. Even looking at EVG alone and it should've been obvious.

I said Skinner and Arvid would be nothing here and that Podz was a bust.

What people really lost sight of was that younger quality players improve, appreciate and older ones don't. Period.

As of now the outgoing forwards are trouncing the incoming by 2-1. DOUBLE the goals scored this season.

Wow it is crazy to look at the stats of players the Oilers let go. The Oilers are in a pickle now....

From a forward support scoring pov what we gave up is essentially what we need now. Was saying this in October in this thread and that theres no way the incoming will match the scoring we had:

"We're paying Arvid quite a lot to be putting up 0 pts so far.

Just to recap Foegele, McLeod, Holloway put up 38 goals last season collectively. If we correct for full season proration for Holloway that would be a total of 45 goals from these 3 players. Arvid and Skinner together won't match that, and yet get paid way more."

Could be but if you look at others players the Oilers had let go they totally tanked (e.g., Puljujarvi, Kassian, Yamamoto, Barrie)
 
If they want like buy-low options Reichel from Chicago, Valimaki (50% retained?) from Utah might be of some use. Obviously I've said Klim Kostin too with a 3rd team retaining.

And we've gone from being a fast team to a slow team with just these stupid moves. We are not a cup contender this year.
