Blackwood is easily my most hated Devils personality since coach John MacLean.

I hated him more than Eric Boulton, probably because we only had to see him for one year/51 games.

I think I hated more than Sean Burke by the early 90s. Burke had a deep playoff run here, while the other shithead had his run in garbage time in a tanking season. Burke also got a lot of mileage from us out of that run to the ECF as a rookie.

I hated Steve Thomas a lot. I don’t think I hated Blackwood more than Thomas, Odelein and Reid Simpson. But you have to go back over 25 years to get to them.

I would be so fulfilled in life if the crowd would start up a chant of

f*** YOU BLACKWOOD!

f*** YOU BLACKWOOD!

or even MB SUCKS! MB SUCKS! MB SUCKS! MB SUCKS!

Dano would probably be like ''I'm not sure what they're chanting there. Are the fans giving it to the officials?''.

I love smaller airports like Allentown or Trenton.
My friend on the other side of the state from me loves the flight from West Palm to Trenton, but it seems to only run for 6 months of the year during the colder months for the snowbirds. That's with Frontier.

He also likes the Vero Beach to Westchester route. He regularly takes those to go Devils games during hockey season.

Trenton and Vero Beach are tiny airports from what he says. Each airport only has several flights per day. Most of Trenton's routes seem to be to Florida.

I don't like either of them much, but we had to watch multiple bad seasons of Blackwood. Vitek was shipped the hell out of here even before the completion of his one bad season here.
Neither one was good but Vitek seemed like a decent guy off the ice. I wouldn't say the same about Blackwood.

Blackwood is more hateable than Vitek. Vanecek had a good season, led us to the playoffs before just getting his head mentally scrambled.

Blackwood had multiple bad seasons, plus the vaccine thing that showed he wasn’t a team player.
I wasn't going to elaborate but yeah.

So the David Gilmour show was phenomenal. I've seen Roger twice and both my youngest and I thought David's show was superior. It got off to a bit of a slow start but when the sound effects preceding Breathe started up the crowd responded and it took off from there. A surprising highlight for me was Fat Old Sun, which is not often seen as a premiere Floyd song but he shredded the guitar on that one and it really impressed. The newer material that was less well known was edgier than the new album would suggest. The live mix was guitar heavy which worked well for a live show. Comfortably Numb was a tremendous encore. You know the band realize the historicity of the moment. They lingered a while on the stage for two bows after the encore. They took in the moment. Tonight is the last show of the short limited tour. If you are on the fence and can swing it, go. This might very well be it for your chance to see him.

Seats were pretty solid. Good view of everything.

And a snippet of what it sounded like.

Not my video. The site won't let me add the snippet from our seats so I had to grab from Youtube. I can't hear it as I'm sitting in the concourse where they are playing music in front of a fountain. It's the only place I could find a seat so cut me some slack. Hopefully it sounds ok. In any event, sharing it with loved ones was special. My oldest isn't a big classic rock guy but the middle and younger ones my brothers and a nephew were all loving it. The only disappointment was having to act like I was happy to be inside MSG.

I had told my wife in about 2020 that if Gimour toured again with the boys old enough to appreciate it that we would spend the money and travel and I'm glad I did. Worth the highway robbery of tickets, travel, and food. Not to mention time. I'm exhausted today. Got in late Friday, got to my brother's after midnight. Did not sleep all that well. Had a hustle and bustle Saturday leading up to the show. Got back to his place well after midnight again. Got up early to get my youngest to the airport since he has the earliest flight of the three of us. Took the middle one for breakfast, returned the rental car, took he shuttle, got through security and now I'm sitting here catching my breath.

OK, for today's game. I expect @Bleedred will tell us all how great the San Jose goalies are. I know he has followed them for years and raves about Blackwood's consistency and Vanacek's courage. If the current NJ goalies flop maybe the team should consider trading for one or both of the guys with San Jose.

NJ is coming off a big OT win that I completely missed. I'll watch the highlights after I get this posted. The Sharks are having a banner season. Of course the banner says "Going Out of Business Everything Must Go". The Sharks are coming off a 5-2 loss to Minnesota but that was on Thursday so they have the rest advantage over NJ. The Sharks PP is at about 18% with the PK at about 82%. They score about 2.5 goals per game and give up about 3.7 goals per game. NJ scores about 3.7 goals per game and surrenders about 2.9. If those numbers hold NJ should be fine so long as they don't run out of gas.

That's about it for me. I'll have to decide if I want to gorge myself before I get on the plane. I also might pass out at the table here if I don't move around. Hopefully I'm home in time to watch most of this one. I think I land just as it gets started. I'll presumably listen to the first period on CarPlay while I drive home after getting my car from section 3C.

NJ lines

Palat Jack Bratt
Cotter Haula Noesen
Meier Hischier Mercer
McD Dowling Tatar

Siegs Kovy
Luke Pesce
Dillon Hamilton

Sharks lines from Daily Faceoff with a few familiar names

Dellandrea Celebrini Toffoli
Eklund Granlund Zetterlund
Goodrow Wennberg Kunin
Smith Sturm Grundstrom

Walman Ceci (daily faceoff has some sort of caution sign on Walman so maybe he isn't playing?)
Ferraro LIljegren
Thrun Rutta

Blackwood
Vanacek

I don't know who starts but it will be a homecoming of sorts either way.

LGD and with luck I can find an AI program that will start creating these GDTs since NJ may never lose again.

One thing I'm sure we can agree on

David Gilmour > the living, breathing ego trip known as Roger Waters

I think I hated almost all the goons here, other than Jim McKenzie.

I liked Cam Janssen, but he was a terrible NHL hockey player.

So yeah, I didn't like Oliwa either.

Arron Asham was a decent player, but it just so happened he sucked here the one year we had him. And had a dispute and screaming match with Brent Sutter during practice. He said something like ''Whatever!'' to him in practice, to which Sutter replied with ''Whatever? Whatever is how you've been playing for the last month!'' or last few weeks, however long it was.

We have been fortunate that we've had a couple goons that knew how to play the game of hockey - Pepe, Clarkson.

They all weren't Krys Barch lmfao

Or Eric Boulton and his 51 games without ever being on the ice for a single Devils goal scored.
