The LGA Terminal B experience: Sharks at Devils (7 PM EST; MSG, ESPN+)

This is about as must win a game as you’ll find <20 games into a season. Playing a shitty team with a brutal next 5 coming up. A loss here and we could end up .500ish or worse through 23 games
I think we'll do okay during the brutal 5 game stretch. Hopefully around 500 or so. We seem to beat Tampa in Tampa sometimes (lost there both times last year), it's at home where we haven't beaten them since the night Ray Shero was fired. And we did win the one game in Florida last year. I'm hoping for at least a split in the road and road series against them.

But yeah, this is an absolutely must win.

I really wanna embarrass Blackwood and/or Vitek.

I would bet it's Blackwood tonight, since Vitek got obliterated last game. This is the first half of a back to back for them. They play in Philly tomorrow night.

Hopefully they take NJ lightly with the big showdown with Philly looming.

The only airports I think I have any experience with are Newark, Tampa and Denver.

I'm trying to think of a time in my life that I flew somewhere that wasn't those three airports. I've taken way more road trips to other places than flown, other than MANY times from Newark to down here or Newark to Denver or here to Denver.

Actually, there used to be a flight from Newark to the St. Pete/Clearwater airport wayyyyy back in the day, which I used to take. This is going back 25+ years ago. That airport is much smaller than Tampa, so it was much smoother.

I also flew into the old Denver airport, Stapleton International years and years ago. Like when I was a kid. That airport closed in 1995 and the new one opened. The new one is just way too big and congested and just.....I can't stand it.

I went to Denver for a family gathering back in I think February of 1995. I flew from Newark into Stapleton on the way there, and on the way back I flew from the new DIA into Newark. They wound up doing the airport changeover the week I was there.

Absolutely - Key West is my favorite in a charming way, while the new Istanbul airport is insane.
I’ve been stuck in many an airport and while some have some fancy shopping they are all sort of similar to me in most ways. Just my thoughts. I’d rather be watching football at home instead of here.

Wishful thinking my friend.

The Sharks and Mack Black will both bring it tonight to help Mack Black get the win. They'll coast and float around in Philthy tomorrow night after using everything they have to beat the NJD tonight.

But DD, Philly is a tough building and the Sharks refuse to lose to Torts.

Well, the experience of being “stuck” is different. Yea, I don’t want to be in an airport for any longer than I have to, but some of them make it an enjoyable experience as opposed to the tri state airports.

For me the difference in airport quality is dining options within the security area. I’m not asking for fine dining, but have some decent quick service options and mid-range chains for sit down during a layover. The other factor is having outlets throughout the seating area to plug in and charge our phone. Not just charging areas, but having them in the normal seating area.

I had to layover at JFK last month for international flights and the terminal felt devoid of options. Plus on my way out all the restaurants only took credit cards through a web pay platform, which was down. They didn’t even have a traditional POS system or could take cash.

I'm glad Blackwood is starting. He's so much easier to hate than Vitek.
I don't like either of them much, but we had to watch multiple bad seasons of Blackwood. Vitek was shipped the hell out of here even before the completion of his one bad season here.

Edmonton airport is the best airport because its not even in Edmonton but in a field beside a town that's in the outskirts of Edmonton.

Blackwood is more hateable than Vitek. Vanecek had a good season, led us to the playoffs before just getting his head mentally scrambled.

Blackwood had multiple bad seasons, plus the vaccine thing that showed he wasn’t a team player.

I’m still mad on November 10th of 2024 that Blackwood got the start in the season opener in October of 2022.

It felt very forced and I still think that 13 game winning streak was only possible because he was injured.

He was definitely going to play every game Schmid did in that stretch (or at least the same number of games) as well as probably at least a few of the games that Vitek played.

And look, he’s the one goalie on that year’s team that had poor numbers. His .894% that year was almost identical and consistent to the numbers he had from about game 6 of the 20-21 season through the end of the 21-22 season.

He got A LOT of mileage out a hot February of 2020/hot 3 months in 19-20.

f*** this guy so much. He’s a f***in BUM.

I’d like nothing more than to see this idiot blown to the KHL by us tonight.
