We won because we killed his 5 minute bone headed penalty. That penalty could've easily went the other way and sunk us, and you'd all be singing a different tune.

Simmonds is able to do what Clifford brings, and he rarely takes stupid ass penalties, which Clifford seems to do regularly. Brother and I called Clifford taking a dumb ass penalty days before the game, he proved us right 10 minutes into the game. That was so predictable.

Besides, he's likely sitting 2 to 3 games, won't even be able to dress him if Keefe even wanted.

We don’t need more skill we have enough of that, we need to match the physicality. Let’s be honest. That hit wasn’t as bad as people are making it seem. It was late but it wasn’t a Kadri type play, some of you have serious PTSD issues from those series that you need to let go of. Someone else posted a very similar hit on Kerfoot and that was no penalty and was 100% worse.

also, maybe its not kadri...maybe the number 43 is cursed lol. i fully expect a suspension and if that happens how many straight series has a #43 been suspended?? hahaha

If Clifford can't control his own emotions, then there is no need for Leafs dressing a knuckle dragging goon that is out there to injury players, and hurt his own team in the process.

Leafs could no doubt use his physicality to offset TB's 4th line, but I'd rather dress Spezza and hurt them with a potential goal, for then hurt the Leafs with potential goals against.

Had TB lite up the Leafs with a couple of PP goals on that 5 min major, and put Leafs in a deep hole in the 1st 10 minutes, I doubt you would be so willing to give him a second chance.

When Bunting returns there would be no place for Clifford anyways in the starting line-up.

My voice is still destroyed from last night. Best game ever
Yeah I was at the game as well, and had a few work calls this morning and my voice didn't sound great haha. Not as hungover as I thought I would be which has been a nice surprise. We'll see about Thursday.

I was all the way up, man. I barely have a voice. A legendary night. Did the HOF and off to watch the Liverpool game with some rowdies, and the Mayer show tonight.

This little trip is an all-timer
Excellent, enjoy!

yea all my buddies used to come over to watch it, there was a lot of TV available on one back than lol, it was a masterpiece lmao!, used to get most hockey, football, baseball games on it, it was a sports fan dream lol

When the Leafs fans were giving the Bronx cheer to Vas when he made an easy save, was not like a normal Toronto crowd,

1) I loved it - To see the crowd so into it, the energy in the building WOW, it must have been a life experience to see it live in person at the rink.
2) I hated it - To heckle the best goalie in the world and not expect for him to feel some F U spite or pride... I sure hope it does not make Vas play better out of sheer pride or spite.

That 5 minute kill put the Leafs on another level. It is not a situation you want to find yourself in again but if you think it didn't force us to be the best versions of ourselves quickly we will have to agree to disagree. The intensity felt after that hit is not the same as the intensity they began the game with.

Well, I didn’t say that. It just wasn’t a turning a point. It certainly forced our PKers into a tough spot and they rose to the occasion. Calling it a turning point however would imply we were playing poorly prior to, which we weren’t.

Yeah he's a f***ing dick. I've got no doubt that he injured him on purpose.
I think it was on purpose too. He has plausible deniability, because it happened very quickly, but I think he did that 100% on purpose, I also think his regret was legit too.

You don’t ever want to actually hurt someone. But I’ve played a lot of contact sports, and you always want to hurt someone. If you know what I mean.

And that’s what Perry wanted to do. He wanted to hurt Tavares. But not really hurt him, which he did and which is why he felt regret.

One of my fav moments was when Sting had the White NWO on and he tore it off with the Wolfpac on under
that got me hype Sting was always my fav as a kid and I hated the Black and White NWO but I guess they designed the story that way

Can I ask why you think that?

To me, it wasn't a close game, and the scoreboard pretty accurately reflects what was happening on a shift by shift basis. It definitely could have been 6-1 (Lilly goal and Stamkos miss) but other than that, score seemed a pretty good representation from my eyes.

Tampa had no luck whatsoever, and the Leafs did have a couple breaks.

No doubt the Leafs outplayed the Lightning, but 4-1 / 5-2 (without Matthews empty netter) would have been reasonable.

And Lightning will be more motivated by the score, than had they had some breaks and still lost.

I'd say getting a 5 min PP and a player ejected from the other side in the first 10 minutes is a pretty good break.
I'd say having a clear goal called no goal is a pretty good break.
I'd say Kerfoot hitting the post early in the game was a pretty good break.
Etc.

Tampa had their share of breaks.

The scoreboard, the analytics and the eye test all disagree with you, but I suppose each to their own?
