I said his appearance wouldn't allow him to do the physicality as in he's out of shape and not muscular.what do you mean his appearance? you mean his height? that;s really the only thing Danny has going for him.
well what's happening is I'm talking about the things I dislike and your disagreeing with me and the thing is you actually dont know much about this at all other than what u seen in HBO Season 1. they took a 15-20 hour game and compressed it into 9 episodes.
I should also mention I didn't really mind Bella the first watch. I thought she kinda stunk but I wanted to see how it all played out.
my 2nd watch..... she stood out like a sore thumb.
Also I'm glad you like the show. and I hope you dont give up on season 2 and actually watch it. but really you should atleast watch the game on youtube or just play it your self. it's 100x better
the game takes 15-20 hours to complete. they compressed it into 9 hours. what does it matter how long it took me to complete? it's a 15+ hour story. prob 5 hours of exploration throughout the chapters overall.Omg man, obviously you would like the game more as is the case for anyone with every adaptation of any book or video game ever. There's been all kinds of books I've read where the movie wasn't as good. It's simply not possible with the time constraints on movies or shows. How many hours did you play the game versus the 10 hours the show was?
Saying it's really not that good is quite the statement considering it's widely acclaimed by fans and critics alike. More like you just can't handle them changing things. That'd be like me saying GOT sucked because the books were better and they changed a few things. The first 4 seasons were still brilliant television though.
4K, and yeah u gotta have the right TV to make it worth it. I'll prob never stop buying movies.I didnt know people even still bought DVDs
your opinion matters too but just because you disagree with me doesn't mean I'm wrong. you literally only know what u have seen from HBO. you dont know what your missing. I'm happy you liked it but I can't help but compare to the game and it kinda sucks compared.I said his appearance wouldn't allow him to do the physicality as in he's out of shape and not muscular.
Frankly, you're not worth arguing with if you think your opinion of this show is worth more because you played the game. Just pure nonsense and quite narcissistic.
You mean reasons other than his attractiveness? There's his lack of muscles and athleticism, his height (I know that Wolverine was written to be short, but DeVito is really short), his age and his personality. There are many reasons why DeVito might make a poor Wolverine. If you assume that it's just because he isn't "attractive enough" and you also assume that the complaints about Bella are for the same reason, it seems more telling of how you look at things than the person that you're trying to call out. What reasons are there other than his appearance? Too old I guess? Huge reach by you to say he defines actor's by their appearance.
Arthur has made it clear that he isn't happy with the show version of Ellie because she doesn't look like Ellie, doesn't behave like Ellie and isn't acted that well by Bella. You and Pierce are ignoring most of that and reaching to say that he's upset because she's not attractive. He hasn't commented on her attractiveness at all and he even suggested that Cailee Spaeny would've made a better Ellie. Spaeny isn't as attractive as the game version of Ellie and is arguably average looking at best, so I think that you're both off base in assuming that attractiveness is important to him. I don't agree with him on several things, either, but I also don't agree with ignoring and twisting what he's saying to make him look like a creep. The guy he's responding to is clearly upset that Bella isn't as attractive as the video game character which is definitely a bit creepy.
thank you, and I would hope that not everyone agrees with me, I would rather everyone get to experience the story, the stuff I'm not happy about isn't the end of the world. You mean reasons other than his attractiveness? Most of those being included in his appearance which is the word I used not attractive. His age I already said. Personality is debatable. This completely pointless to talk about tho and I wish I left it alone. Was mainly thinking about the height thing since I believe Wolverine was only five feet tall which would be closer to Devito's height. You mean reasons other than his attractiveness? As far as the Bella complaints, if you want to pretend that there hasn't been thousands online make that complaint about her (not attractive enough) then go right ahead. I'm probably wrong for putting Arthur Morgan in that group though. However, I only said it in one post and most of what I'm disagreeing with him on is him saying her acting is bad and that HBO butchered the show as well him freaking out over every change they make from the game. Plus, he thinks he's more qualified to critique this show because he played the game. If anything it's the opposite since he has a bias built in from playing the game.
The show is great to me and most others regardless. I don't care about what happened in the video game. I already said that almost all adaptations don't live up to the source material if you're a fan of said material. You can still enjoy them though. If you don't like the show that's fine, no one said you're wrong but we're allowed to disagree.that's water under the bridge,
imo her acting is bad. she's not a bad actor she's just a bad Ellie imo, also imo HBO butchered what could have been ALOT better imo
never said I was more qualified but you dont know the game so how would you know what I'm saying is wrong or right? you only know what HBO gave us. there's so much missing, so many great moments rushed or skipped
Which brings me back to my original point of why does it matter if an actor or actress doesn't closely resemble the character from the source material. Just seems silly to get upset about that.after watching Alien: Romulus I really think Cailee Spaenly could have been perfect as Ellie. it is what it is. Bella isn't going anywhere but just look how much she looks like Ellie and she was very good an Alien so it's not just some cosplayer
because nothing about Bella makes me believe that she's Ellie, in the entire show the only two characters that make me think they are someone else is Ellie and Bill. The show is great to me and most others regardless. you might be right about almost all adaptations not living up to the source material however this is completely different.
the entire point of it becoming a tv show was to show the non-gamers a great story that many love. and it's just not as good,
they could have expanded on scenes like this part in the first episode but instead they skipped alot of great moments, complete sections of the game that took hours were started and finished within an hour or less screen time, there was NO reason to rush the entire first game in 9 episodes
if it was so good why do most of the fans not like it? we're the only reason this became a tv show. if no one cared it would just get pushed aside.
too bad those people only know what they see on HBO. it's a great story so it's not crazy that people who dont know what they are watching would really like it.You're complaining about stuff that happens in every adaptation and while fans of the game might not like the show, a lot of people clearly do. Anyways, This seems to have run it's course.
