Confirmed with Link: The koala has been fired!! Todd McLellan fired, Jim Hiller named Interim Head Coach

Rob Blake, Nelson Emerson, Marc Bergeron, Luc Robitaille, Glenn Murray, Matt Greene, Jared Stoll, Sean O'Donnell.

No problem with a few of those guys, but back in the Lombardi days the Kings had a mix of former executives, lawyers, and players.

Soloman and Futa left.

Now it's just all Blake's friends and ex players.
Pretty sure they’ve got a guy who got his MBA from Chapman University as VP of MS Excel Ops for the whole organization.

Blake should be fired:

Petersen contract
Todd extension
PLD contract
I don't see the issue with giving TMac a 1 year extension. There's some context to the Petersen contract as well (same can be said for many of the other moves people complain about).

But if PLD continues on his current trajectory, than that trade and subsequent contract are irredeemable. There's no coming back from a trade that bad.

He has failed at three attempts to right the ship in all three ways possible: he may have been dealt a hand that couldn't win the pot, but damned if he didn't louse up the maintenance route by going all in on hoping to flop an inside straight when folding was clearly the best option.

Then he 3/4-ed a rebuild. He made some nice judgements in dealing away Cup side pieces but ignored moving a big fish. But he abandoned the rebuild two years and potentially two or three impact players early. He dealt Kupari and Vilardi, let Bjornfot shrivel on the vine, and sent away two more firsts before the rebuild actually bared any legitimate fruit. Plus he will forever be the dolt that traded away Faber. That's an F for that attempt.

Then he went with the "buy some success" attempt and whiffed on Dubois and foul-tipped on Fiala, but PLANNED on questionable goaltending with not 22, but 21 men. Then he had to fire his coach after a collapse Andy Murray would smirk at. FAILURE.

Add in the ridiculous decision of the tried and truism of not playing two RHDs together, which is astonishing since he was a RHD and damn well knew better.

Said this two years ago KNOWING this garbage right now was always the most likely outcome, Blake is the worst GM in teams history.

It’s been over 3 hours since this was posted and there hasn’t been a response yet saying “Faber wasn’t signing in LA”

Shocking

Cant imagine ownership being really excited to pay Mclellan $5 million not to coach next year.
They probably also didnt love paying Petersen millions to play in Ontario and paying Provorov to play in Columbus as the solution either.
Add that to paying Stevens, Phaneuf and Kovalchuk to not be part of the team.
Thats a lot of hooch Blake wrote off in such a short time.

I'm sure they're not happy about it, but it's peanuts compared to the PLD and Fiala trades.

A 1 year extension for TMac was pretty reasonable.

Yea all of it has compounded and the PLD trade/contract is just the end of the rope. Enough is enough.

Hiller as coach is going to reveal how crappy of a rebuild Blake did. Blake will be gone at the end of the season.

Another name on the AEG payroll post second cup that is paid to not play or coach the Kings, due to firings, buyouts or contract retention.

Mike Richards
Matt Greene
Marian Gaborik
Dion Phaneuf
John Stevens
Todd McLellan
Ivan Provorov

Anyone I am forgetting? And hey, the biggest one could be next.

Go enjoy your long paid vacation Todd, I hope you don’t feel bad, as Canada Bill Jones said “it’s immoral to let a sucker keep his money”

Sutter was given a 3 year x 5 mil deal and fired him year 1. That's why we got the nhl fraud Willie D as coach. AEG wasn't about to pay a top rental 3 mil, plus 2 other coaches [Stevens and Sutter]

Todd hadn’t proven anything. Should have waited.

Pearson was a former 1st rounder and 20 goal scorer and they traded him for Carl Hagelin?

Clearly you don't remember how bad he was. He was whipping boy from the 1st game of that season until his trade. He couldn't even keep up with carter and toffoli as his linemates anymore. He was traded again by Pitt to Van later that year.

We retained salary on the Jeff Carter, Derek Forbort, Kyle Clifford, Carl Hagelin, and Jeff Zatkoff trades dating back to 2018.

That’s because we all know he was not signing… there’s no need for us to repeat ourselves constantly like we do on every other discussion point :naughty::laugh:

Rob Blake, Nelson Emerson, Marc Bergeron, Luc Robitaille, Glenn Murray, Matt Greene, Jared Stoll, Sean O'Donnell.

Luc’s friends… he’s the bigger issue.

Man, maybe I can get a job under Blake as VP of Taking A Piss.
Wouldn't that mean that your particular skill set would involve dribbling all over yourself, missing the bowl entirely, and engaging in a "you must shake it for two years before zipping up" philosophy?

Sounds like a prostate issue. Should get that checked out.

I believe you’d have to start as Senior Director of Urinal Ops, but could work your way up quickly.
