Interesting on PAC, yesterday he said he was "a ways away".
As he nurses injury, Pacioretty likes what he sees from Maple Leafs

Pacioretty is not eligible to come off long-term injured reserve until Saturday when the Leafs visit the Pittsburgh Penguins.

“Some of it’s not in my control, but I feel really good,” Pacioretty said.

“My step today was the first practice with the team. This time of year, those don’t come too often and took advantage of that. I’m sure we’ll figure out the next step.”

I like the fact that they are high on Minten. Leafs investment in a competent scouting department is paying dividends. Considering how much draft currency the Leafs spent to try and get this team over the hump.

Now I don't have the time or inclination to follow their junior players but they seem to have solid depth, be it Minten, Gren, Cowen etc. I will conduct my assessment once they are in the big show.

They are going to have to make some difficult decisions with this team as the roster is crowded. A good problem to have as injuries occur.

Yeah there does seem to be a 2nd wave coming.

Part of it is already here in Knies and Woll, but you got Cowan, Minten,Grebs, plus the2 Marlies goalies.

People say the Leafs prospect pool is bare, I disagree that does not appear to be the case.

I don't know if there is any franchise level players in the group but they all look to have NHL futures.

From "day to day" to "could be an option for next week"
While they can play, perhaps when the medical staff clear them, they're only 80%? Maybe Berube is giving the players extra time to be healed as opposed to years past where we might have rushed them back?

Obviously not top priority, but has there been any word on Mermis?

I thought he was a good depth signing when they got him. Was hoping to see him in some games.
