We are in a stretch of 5 games in 15 days, so injuries aren't a huge deal right now (in fact, if players are dealing with something, then no better time to hold them out). But the schedule gets a lot more hectic in December, so here's hoping we can get some guys back before then.

what the actual hell is going on?

Matthews, Pacioretty, Domi, Jarnkrok. Thats 4 top 9 players, thats almost half of them

ffs it's going to be much tougher to catch florida if we keep losing guys to injuries

Anyone with any sort of talent is injured. Anthony Stolarz saving the season. If we still had Samsonov as our starter the draft lottery simulator thread would be up

Yes. They technically also need cap space to recall Greb so I'm not sure what else they did to create the 800k of cap space they need.
It's not 800k they need to clear, it's only around 90k. They had 788k before the recall per Puckpedia and Grebenkin's cap hit is 875k.

Congratulations Paciorrety for winning the race to IR before Robertson.

I guess I'm not really surprised. Everyone Treliving signed this summer was over the hill and injury prone. That's on top of the injury prone players who were already here.

When you keep adding band-aid boys to the roster you end up with a band-aid boy team.

There was never any doubt the Leafs were would be making use of LTIR. Fans were creating threads about it. So we shouldn't be surprised when players are dropping like flies.

The result of a GM desperate to save on cap costs any way he can.

So he signs washed up vets like Paciorrety, Tanev, and OEL to retirement deals. Throws a bunch of money at the broken and battered body of Joseph Woll. Convinces Robertson there's a spot for him on the team.

All these injured players are the result of a GM who isn't effective at managing risk.

When you keep adding band-aid boys to the roster you end up with a band-aid boy team.

There was never any doubt the Leafs were planning on making liberal use of LTIR. Fans were creating threads about who was gonna be the first person on it. So we shouldn't be surprised when players are dropping like flies.

There are some curious strategies in play. Some good and some are flat out hail Mary level. The JT and Marner contracts will tell you if we are going for the win or to sell hope and merch

What an intellectually boring take.

I wonder if Berube's style is too demanding?

Why it's almost like, responsible hockey is hard, lol.

Right, Tanev, Stolarz and OEL. All Treliving signings, and all over the hill and on the LTIR. Oh, wait....
