Where all all the folks who called Grabovski a KHL player who wasn't good enough for the NHL?
Calling Kadri a bum and for him to be traded.

I called it:
Buying out Grabo with Bozo as a 1C would result in leafs missing the playoffs

Correlation =/= causation. If he was that big a factor, his team would probably be in the playoffs right now. Same goes for MacArthur.
Bozak leads all leafs forwards in TOI and is a top 5 player league wide in regards to GA/60mins. He has a part in the leafs collapse and he's this team's #1C, he definitely takes a large chunk of the responsibility for the failure of the team, as does Phaneuf, Carlyle etc. and every player/management playing in a primary role.

If there are more apples in Mexico and more oranges in Canada = high correlation but not causation sure i get it. But if there are more apples in mexico the following season doesn't mean more oranges in Canada.
However,
But within the context if I said there are more apples in canada and more oranges in canada implies next time when there are more apples in canada chances are there will be more oranges in canada. (The context: same country: Canada, potentially same weather pattern as last season).
If Grabo and Mac were still on the leafs chances are leafs squeeze by in the playoffs. Correlation NOT causation. But higher chances. I can do a Granger causality test if you like
Also, with Grabo playing with the leafs, gives more time for Kadri to develop in a full 82 game season and tweaking his game than playing as a 2C.
This management blew it. Anyway, not to get off topic.
Another thing I called:
Carlyle is running the pre-historic system and has pre-historic dinosaurian age approach to hockey
What was I thinking:
Shanahan will blow it up![]()
Are you kidding me? Players that played well were keeping us from collapsing earlier, they didn't cause us to collapse late. Our first line was effectively delaying the inevitable, not causing it.

I didn't follow your example whatsoever but just because a player was on the team when we made the playoffs, and then left, and the team failed to make the playoffs, doesn't mean that that player was a big factor in making the playoffs. Especially when the guy had 16 points. I understand he wasn't utilized properly but he was hardly the reason we made the playoffs and he was hardly the reason we missed them this season. Our team played a flawed game last season and they managed to sustain it over 48 games. It's much tougher to sustain a flawed system over 82 games.
At the 48 game mark, we would have made the playoffs again this season. Last year we made the playoffs improbably because of the low amount of games. Our possession stats would have likely caught up to us like they did this year had we played a full season.
Einstien: Doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results = Insanity
Using Bozo as a 1C for 3 seasons of collapse while expecting different = ???
Carlyle refusing to shuffle lines while expecting different results = ???
I will let you answer that with whatever you are comfortable with.
Dude Grabo had better possession numbers than any of our centers. In Sutters own words:
I’ve coached in three decades now and this stuff where they said Marian had to play in Jacques’s system is a bunch of bull-crap. The game’s changed. They think there’s defending in today’s game. Nah, it’s how much you have the puck. Teams that play around in their own zone they they’re defending but they’re generally getting scored on or taking face-offs and they need a goalie to stand on his head if that’s the way they play,†said Sutter.
Name me one season where our 1st line isn't chasing the puck in our own zone?
Anyway, dont wanna get into the whole grabo-bozo thing. Its the thing of the past, management blew it

who needs puck possession when Bozak can sport a 20% shooting percentage every year![]()
Einstein never said that. That's also not the definition of insanity. I can't stand that ******* quote.
Bozak had nothing to do with the collapse. He was playing excellent and our first line was probably the second or third best line in the NHL last season.
You people seriously do not understand causation and correlation.
Just because a player was on the team and it collapsed doesn't mean that he was the reason for the collapse. I really would like to hear what you wanted Bozak to do differently, not score almost a point per game? The first line had nothing to do with the collapse, like I said earlier, this collapse was inevitable with the dumb system that was in place, the first line were the ones that were keeping this team from collapsing much sooner.
