fortunately we don't have pistol pete running the show, don't go out and make dumb ufa deals, stay the plan and aim for another top 3 pick next year and then see where the pool is in year 3

KD implied that they're still going to be tanking/rebuilding when interviewed so i'm not expecting them to go out and make any big moves. Would be great if Toews or Kane come back now tbh just to pass the torch.

Bedard can't have Blackwell and Dickinson as linemates. They will need to pick up at least one, if not two top-six UFAs -- even if just short term deals.

Something I just thought about. Was the draft pick last year lottery protected?
I know that you gave up last year's first to Columbus because it wasn't a top 2 pick. But what if it was a top two pick? Would Columbus have the unprotected rights to this 2023 pick? Aka Bedard? If so... y'all just avoided a disaster.

We still need to be bad for another season at least. Unless all of our blue chip prospects blow past their potential we still have a lot of holes that can't and shouldn't be filled by overpriced UFAs. No bringing back DeBrincat, probably no Kane either. Let Bedard acclimate playing next to Reichel and pick top 10 next season too

Eventually, maybe. Reichel should not be Bedard's best linemate next season. Reichel is still trying to develop himself.

Reichel-Bedard-Kane makes a lot of sense because you can pay Kane a lot to get to floor and make it a short term deal but it doesn't really do much for us long term, not concerned with Bedard's development from a year playing on a bad team, he was made in a lab, kid is all hockey and will be fine long term

I was watching the ESPN broadcast and they revealed picks 16 through 4 and went to commercial with three picks left…they said it’s between two teams Chicago and Anaheim for #1??? What about Columbus I thought? Then when they came back from commercial Daley revealed the #3 pick…Columbus? What ever happened there? Conspiracy stuff gonna be going in now
