The Former Hab Thread - Part Infinity

Must see TV.

This HBO special will just reinforce how fortunate Bergevin...and the Habs organization/team...was to trade PK for Weber before his no trade clause kicked in.

One must wonder at how big pk's ego really is.

"Look at me!!! This is what I did on my summer break. Are you looking at ME?" Seriously?

Greatest trade in Habs history!!

You present it as if he set up this documentary himself. Pretty sure the channel asked him and he accepted. I would too, whats the down-side except rustling some insecure people jimmies? "OMG a nice, funny, elite athlete gets exposure, what an attention *****".

How is it a negative? You are reaching for things to criticize. His play of late would warrant plenty enough of critcisms. Howwver his own private time doesnt matter one iota to the hockey club he plays with. Except for his passionate fanbase and his pathological haters.

"Omg Lafleur and his disco album, like who the **** does he think he is? He's all "hey look at me singing". What a narcissic ass-hole." This is how you sound right now.

It's a non-issue. PK was traded for hockey reasons and we are witnessing what exactly those are these days. No need to take shots at his personality, thats so low.

Man, PK could probably donate millions of dollars to a local children's hospital, and some posters would still spin it into a negative way. "What an attention *****! Can you believe that guy???"

:sarcasm:

PK with some other disgusting sequences in the d zone.

He's getting exposed big time now that he isn't playing with Price behind him.

Well... It's just the same thing as last season in his case.

People called Weber a glorified second pairing dman, PP specialist... Let's agree that it is WAY MORE accurate in PK's case.

Judging the documentary before it even comes out. If that doesn't perfectly sum up PK's haters, I don't know what does.

The guy has never won a Cup.

He won a Norris in 2012, 4 seasons ago.

He is coming off of his worst pro season ever for goals scored.

His bloated salary is the highest Cap Hit for D in the NHL.

Tell me the reason why Canada/US needs to see PK starring in "What I Did On My Summer Vacation". There are only so many times PK can point to the sky.

Anyway, that's Nashville's problem, not ours.

Please someone tell me he won't be yapping about the trade again in this documentary.

The demand is obviously there. Despite his 3-4 rabid haters on this message board, he has tons of fans who are interested in this documentary. Or are you saying you know more about making TV shows than HBO?
Anyway, that's Nashville's problem, not ours.
Sure, but you guys sure do like to bring him up a lot. If he's "Nashville's problem", how about this: don't post about him again! In fact, don't even go in this thread! Deal?

Lets not forget PK is a Toronto boy. He played here but he was born and raised in Toronto. Of course the NHL and Canadian media is still going to want him to be a star.

Now its just annoying to us because he doesn't play here anymore. Same way we are annoyed when anything Toronto gets attention. His hab's heritage will slowly fade away, but he will always be a good old Toronto boy who played with Stammer all those years ago. Toronto sports network and Sportsnet Toronto gonna squeeze all they can out of the PK lemon.

That's not how it works. ;)

He is Nashville's problem...as in TEAM problem. As fans of the Habs, we can still opine about our formerly over-rated and overpaid PK Subban.

The day after the trade on Hockey Central at Noon, they had Adam Oates as a guest. They asked him who he thinks won the trade, he said Montreal. His reason is because he believes PK has plateaued. I didn't take it as gospel, but it stick with me because all I'd hear are fans and some media crapping on Montreal and Bergevin/Therrien. And here is the first hockey person I listen to who has a different perspective than anyone I heard up that point and he was in favour of Weber. And then players and other hockey people starting coming out and praising Weber. When I would hear that, it didn't matter what analytics said, it didn't matter what fans said, and it didn't matter what media guys said. I was convinced we got the better of Nashville on this one.

 The bolded part made me laugh I almost choked on a grape.

How many Stanley Cups did Lafleur have at this time?

Well, he didn't win any after recording that album and went on a sharp decline soon after. Maybe recording music was too much of a distraction for him? :sarcasm:

I'm half joking here, but my point is clear: we shouldn't focus that much on whatever the players do off the ice. It's their time and they have plenty of it so that they can do stuff while devoting themselves to their careers.

I guess so, but it's bordering on obsessive. Are you the kind of guy who claims he doesn't care about his ex anymore, but still spies on her and goes through her mail? :help:

Easy solution for you: save yourselves the headache, and just stop posting about a non-Hab in the non-Hab thread. We get it. You don't like PK Subban. Trust me, we get it.

+ Playing half a season against Eastern Conference teams ONLY.

That year, no individual Trophies should had been given. Only the Stanley Cup.

What I still don't understand is when he is saying that he did not feel he was accepted in MONTREAL... What does he mean ? The CITY or the TEAM ?

If he meant the city, I am totally loosing any respect I had for him. That CITY embraced him, cheered for him, cried when he was dealt....

I hope he just meant the team, or its management.

But when their on ice play declines or plateaus, it's fair to question if these off ice activities are good for the team and for the player.
