I don't know what vibe you guys are getting, but feels to me like Deebo wants to be HERE. All the guys that are clearly just looking for the highest bidder can take that shit up the road.

I don't mind paying big for the right mercenary, but overall I want to continue building the culture the way they did last year. Look for the pieces that fit, the guys that want to be here, the leaders with motor to spare. And yeah, it'll also help if they're leaving a little on the table to come here. Let's take the right kind of advantage of being a destination.
This, all of it exactly.

Time to snag josh sweat

I still hope they find BRob's replacement too but that can be done through the draft

There are a few good DL’s, but not a lot of them — and most are OLD

No reason to be afraid of age in the NFL, especially with a GM that appears to have AP's contractual foresight. Just gotta find the right balance between money and term like in every sport, but also between "still definitely has gas in the tank" and "willing to sign for a song for a couple last whacks at a Super Bowl."

Wagner's a bit of a unicorn, but a good example of what I'm talking about. Ertz is a bit more realistic. Definitely shows his age, but has a reliable veteran savvy that pays dividends. Both are team-oriented leaders mentoring the hell out of young players just by being here and doing their thing.

There always seems to be a handful of these guys bouncing around the league every year. Keep your radar locked onto that type of guy and continue drafting well and you'll build a complete team in no time. No shame at all in finding the right 30+ guys to wring 2-3 solid years out of.

It's the big, splashy moves and albatross contracts that sink teams.

He had one sack last year. I could probably match that. He's 30, and we would be his fifth team. He might come cheap, but I'd keep looking.
He was out most of the season. He was a MONSTER in Philly for 2 previous years.

I can see him being a thrifty “get back” type of contract. Heavily incentive laden, and this is a good team for him. I’d like him AND someone else, candidly. Plus a draftee.

I’m certainly not afraid of aged players (was raised on G Allen’s “over the hill gang” in the 70’s….so am also OLD), and I think GMAP will get it mostly right.

Just commenting on it, as very few “youngish” DL’s available via the FA route.

I’d like to them to add TWO new DE vets, a DT vet, and at least 2 young DL’s from the draft. So like 5 new DL’s (or resigning Fowler could be one of them).

It was reported that this was one of his preferred destinations.....let's see if they resign him early or if they see how he plays and then for how much. ALL of these guys want to get paid.
Mack had six sacks last year. But comparison, Dante Fowler had 10.5 for us.

Speaking of….he mad.

True story.

But — one costs 17m for a season, and a 5th

The other costs 30m a season and a 2nd.

I like both. And Metcalf is def better. But they are different players, and I like how Deebo may work in our offense
Agreed.
Also not convinced PIT should be investing big money at WR while they've got, at best, a boloney sandwich throwing him the ball.

Just reported that he's signing with the Bucs

Dude is a physical monster.

Former 1st round pick, only 27, could really turn things around in the right environment.

Hes around a 3 sack 20 tackle guy. Looks like hes hurt alot. The 49ers turned down his 5th year option. Played for the Jets last year on a 1 year deal for 7.5.

Im not sure how he doubled his value after last season.
