Post-Series Talk: The Florida Panthers defeat the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-3 (mod warning in OP)

If ya win - take a Finn as a center :thumbu: .

Even if KAJ only came 4:th place in the Eurovision competition in the bitter end .... but they sang in Swedish:nod:. Finland is a two song country ... or rather sword.

Barkov.

Hintz.

Aho.

Lundell.

Only the centers. Around.

No more and no less than 12 (!) top Finns in NHL-action still nowadays. How can you top that Canada?!

And yes; I've been live to the World championships 'ere in Sweden (Stockholm) to watch the ... well, losers around.

Is there even a scenario where leafs management want Marner back? The series wasn’t even over and there was talk of a bad relationship and questions about where Marner ends up.
Imo the Leafs keep Tavares (6mil x 4 years) and let Marner walk. They use the Marner money to extend RFA Knies.

Yeah I’d agree that Tavares likely returns, a lot easier to bring him back. Marner is going to be the fall guy here. It’s probably a good thing for him too, Superstar talent but too much expected of him in Toronto. Go elsewhere with an already established leadership group and just be a superstar.

I would love to see Colorado make room for him, he'd be a perfect fit there.

Marner was better than Matthews throughout the series and I'll die on that hill.

Aside from Egregious turnovers, his offensive upside is just way higher than a volume of shots from Matthews lol.

If only he had worked on his shot a couple of years ago. But he clearly doesn't f***ing care

He obviously was the reason why the game went the way it did.

But If anybody was paying attention to Marchand throughout this whole game. Like the little things

He was unbelievable lol.

Yeah, but Marner is a UFA and Matthews ain't.

Because Marner played even worse than Matthews, who I can only assume is hurt. Nylander was still generating chances and this is his first no show in a playoff series in recent memory. Marners moping and entitlement drags the team down. He is just so f***ing fragile mentally, it's insane

Woll let in some absolutely deflating softies. Completely killed any opportunity for momentum. I like Woll but he was aweful and should have played Stolartz for several reasons- bigger, better and would have been an unexpected surprise for the Cats
Pretty sure the Cats know stolie since he played for them last year

Bob also let in some absolute shitters too

As much as I like to see the Leafs lose, this was a powerhouse matchup between arguably the best 2 teams in the NHL. I expected more from the Leafs in game 7, but at the end of the day they went 3-4 against the defending champs. There's no shame in that.

There's absolutely a ton of shame of back to back 6-1 losses at home, especially when you put up a 2-0 shutout in between.

Can we sign Marchand in the summer so we can guarantee we don't play him in the playoffs again?
