Couldn't the Oilers just send someone down right now to be cap compliant? They're less than 1 mil over. If Kane came back then they would need to send someone down anyway.
Puckpedia's projected cap space is kind of wonky.

It's the current cap space that matters for the Oilers on there. They currently have $1.075M in space against the cap+LTIR pool. They'd have to clear a little over $4M to get under the cap without Kane on LTIR.

It says they are at 88.95M with a cap of 88M? What's the explanation there?

Or wait there's another value of 92.9M. I'll look a bit deeper at that.
