Birmingham's relegation should serve as a a blueprint on how to not run your club. They were doing fine until they decided to sack the manager and replace him with Wayne Rooney. Enjoy League One!

Hopefully the Wrexham boys sent a message to Tom about seeing him next season.

Oxford level at the half against Peterborough, with Oxford having won the first leg. The winner goes on to play Bolton for promotion to the Championship. Would be Oxford's first time at that level since the 90s

Another Wembley day today, the local league FA Vase final (Romford vs. Great Wakering Rovers, both Essex Senior League) starting now and the non-league premier FA Trophy final (Gateshead vs. Solihull Moors, both National League) in 4 hours then.

And Solihull lose AGAIN on penalties with supposedly the same guys missing as they did in the promotion final, ouch

Then and there
Leeds starts with a very attacking line-up, with quartet Piroe, Summerville, Rutter and Gnonto on the pitch at the same time.

Will they be able to turn around their poor form and previous playoff failures?

Edit: Gruev makes it 1-0 from a free kick, his first goal for the club. Seemed that keeper let it go in rather easily, he was maybe positioned a bit wrong.

Edit2: 2-0 now after 20 mins, Piroe with a close range header, keeper was too hesitant to go for the ball to catch it.

Few minutes later, Meslier makes a great one-handed save when Sargeant was 1 on 1 against him.

Rutter makes it 3-0 already before 40 mins.

Oxford wins League One Playoff match and are back in the Championship for the first time in over 20 years. They were down as far as National League in 06-07. After 4 years they got back to League Two in 09-10 and after 6 years there, they got to League One in 16-17.

It was a pretty comfortable win. Really proud of the team and looking forward to watching more of them next season.

At Wembley Crawley and Crewe 1:0 after 45 minutes in the League Two promotion final.

Crawley despite having been a non-league club until 2011 already had three League One years from 2012 to 2015, Crewe of course has a long history at this level but as an organization has earned a tarnished reputation after severe scandals in recent years (think Blackhawks).

Southampton the third side up, with basically the exact same team they came down with, minus the big names that got poached. This is a team that I fully expected to become Championship mid-table mire. A major testament to Russell Martin, who I now expect to be linked with the Chelsea job.

To drive this point even further.

The meat was fully picked off Southampton's carcass when they got relegated. Ward-Prowse, Lavia, Livramento, Salisu, Tella, Alcaraz, Djenepo, ABK.

They only made two signings with fees - Shea Charles and Ross Stewart. Everything else was frees and loans.

It is insane to me that there was chatter that Martin would get canned if they didn't go up. He's done an extraordinary job with this team.

I didn’t think they’d do it, but happy Southampton went up.

For a while they even looked like they might be promoted without the playoffs. Considering how their respective seasons are going, they should be getting Bella-Kotchap and Alcaraz back too, both of whom are familiar with the Premiership and proven. They’ll still need to do some spending though if they want to stay up.
