I love the NHL more than anything but whenever I go abroad it’s just a complete non factor in Western Europe, Asia, South America. It’s just a fun little niche, really.

Shame, because the sport really does have it all -- speed, skill, physicality, athleticism, a bunch of different star players who all impact the game in unique ways. There's so many ways you can be successful as a hockey player, I don't think that athletic diversity is really present in other sports.
