LOL, a slump is a slump. it doesn't matter how much you get paid. Right now they are in one. they are working hard but things aren't going their way.

A lot of it also has to do with, Toronto is the easiest team in the North to defend. They do the same thing night in and night out. When Matthews, Nylander, Tavares, Marner are at their best, they are quick on the rush and attacking in straight lines, much like McDavid and Draisaitl do every night. But those four shy away from contact. If they wanna score they gotta just get into the dirty areas, these cross crease play is not there anymore. Every team has copied what Columbus did. Put 5 guys in front of the goalie and Toronto will not be able to do anything. It also doesn't help that our PP has been GOD awful

Why are we paying these guys so much money if we just accept them sucking for an entire MONTH and then call it "meh, a slump is a slump". What the hell?

Funny to see the people who were awfully quiet in our last 3 games against Edmonton when McDavid and Draisaitl were absolutely useless and invisible are coming out in full force tonight.

Bc Leafs did all that without Matthews that was damn impressive. No one can hate that.

I just think this is a horrible way to build a team. Half the cap on 4 forwards. If they all aren't at or about leading the league in points, the team folds.

The Columbus series wasn't a glitch. It wasn't "ran into a hot goalie". It's that teams are figuring out how to shut down our "elite" forwards.

Our stars were amazing during late-start covid pond hockey. Now that we're back to nhl hockey, we're seeing all the same signs.

If this was true the Leafs wouldn't be sitting at 6th in the NHL in goals scored....

Matthews fully healthy is closer to the 3-4 spot than he is the 8-12 spot.
