I find it interesting that Pettersson was placed on IR to make room for Silovs instead of Hughes. May be an indication that Hughes is closer to returning than Pettersson.

Canucks now officially lead the league in wins above replacement (per Evolving Wild) lost due to injury (this is if you include Miller's absence as an injury). Second place is Colorado, and most of that is Landeskog, who has not played at all in the last 3 years, but is still counted as a high WAR player.

Not only have the Canucks been unfortunate with injuries, but they have also been to the best players on the team. The fact that they are still in a playoff position is remarkable at this point, and should they make the playoffs (very likely assuming fewer injuries and better luck in OT) they may well be a lower seed that is favoured to win a first round match-up.

I (crudely, by hand) went through the numbers last week and we were almost at almost 14% of cap hit lost to injury. I imagine WAR and cap hit are fairly tightly correlated.

- Sherwood’s injury isn’t serious but is enough that he might not play
- Joshua is close; might play in the next two games, needs to get some more contact in practice

IMac is reporting that Joshua is healthy, and could have played tonight against the Blues.....but is 'likely' for Wednesday's game with the Preds.

Meantime Sherwood is nearing a return as well, and is listed as a 'possible' for Friday's game in Dallas

If it happens, it'll be first time all season that the Canucks have been 100-percent healthy. Methinks that Allvin should just leave well enough alone, and ride this current lineup awhile longer. Still lots of time before the
TDL.
