The Devils are horror bad.

Goaltending is not great but the team defense is awful.

If you can make it thru the Red Wings Cringe Eminem goal song, watch the game highlights with those D Zone lapses.

—do wings fans like that goal song? I mean it’s super annoying for the opposing team lol.
At first I was like "Nice! Eminem, a Detroit son, and it annoys the other team!"

Starting to get annoyed. I would be a lot happier with it if they didn't just repeat the nananananana part and started it with the last "This looks like a job for me so everybody just follow me.." verse that leads to the the nanananana part rather than repeating it 3 times.

Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman said the road to Cup was running through New Jersey.

Brunette is a good coach. He is no longer there. I thought Brunette did a very good job replacing Queeneville in Florida in a tough circumstances. The Devils seemed more organized last season with Brunette on the staff. Travis Green is a downgrade.
Brunette was responsible for the PP, so is Green. And the PP is better. So, this isn’t it.

It was so obvious that Bratt's numbers were propped up by playing with J. Hughes. Still a good player, but not someone who seriously drives a line on his own, like say Nylander does. As soon as Hughes went down, Bratt went on a prolonged siesta.

Same with Meier.

And Hamilton is always Hamilton (especially in crunch time).

Hasnt Meier actually started to produce more after Hughes got injured? He was on a 3 games goal streak before himself getting injured

Looks like the devils are just full of key injuries and any team would suffer from those.

Personally love it!!
I didn't think there could be a worse goal song then the Dadada one the Blackhawks have but Detroit went the extra mile and basically have one that is basically a kid going "Na na na na na na"

Thanks OP for making a thread where the trolls who only take cursory glances at the Devils and think their experts can come in and say "see I told you so I saw this coming a year ago!!" :banghead:

To me, it seems painfully like a coaching issue. The same issues that were like half-present last season are now 110% present this season in terms of team structure and Ruff has no solution for it. Sure, our two best players have been out, but there is no excuse for looking how they have been in both zones without some serious lack of preparation and coaching issues going on right now.

Nico is really their crutch. I think they should've traded for a goalie (Vedjmelka) instead of rolling with Vanecek after last season. Devils badly need to fix their crap. But will they bounce back? I think they will.

ah yes, everything is so obvious to this guy! were all blind to the truth!!

Don't worry guys, hide your wife, nico is quietly getting back to burn down your villages

Bratt wasn't even playing with Hughes lol.

11 of Bratt's 23 points so far this season are shared with J. Hughes, 5 of them secondary assists (of 9 in total). Most of those are on the PP, which does nothing to the overall point. He's only got 7 even strength points so far, Bratt. But sure, Whiskey, if you want we can have a club together where we pretend Bratt is better than both Nylander (Willy, not Alex) and Elias Pettersson.

This conversation isn’t enough about Nico Hischier, and it should be entirely. He’s been out for quite a bit, and they haven’t played well. He’s coming back soon so we’ll see if that’s a difference maker.

Bratt has been a great 5v5 producer his entire career, well before Jack. But keep spouting that ignorance.

People really underestimated the kind of damage Travis Green can do. As soon as you let a guy like that in your room, you risk permanent damage.

I dont mind it. My only complaints is like yours, I wish it didnt repeat multiple times. Once or twice and then into the chorus or a different song would be nice. And remove that lame DJ horn they play during it too. Other than that? I love it. Better than the previous years goal songs.

1-5 in their last 6 games. Vanecek .886sv% 3.43gaa, Schmid .885sv% 3.46gaa. The defense is atrocious, constantly giving up out numbered and high danger chances. They can't score 5v5.

I knew the staff and player changes would affect the team this season, but this is beyond my wildest nightmares. I know Nico and Timo are injured, but they weren't really playing that well to start the season anyway. If something drastic doesn't happen soon, they are looking to be well out of the playoffs. It seems neither Ruff or Fitz know what to do, so one or both need to be let go.
