They’re much more likely to overpay for someone who’s shown, he not only ups his game in the playoffs, but can also contribute (on the scoresheet) during the regular season as well. More the Anthony Duclair type.

Chicagoland (Tinley Park)
For those of you clamoring for Joshua, take a look at his splits with and without Garland. This screams of a flash in the pan where someone give him a 4 * 3.5 M deal and is regretting it by January

Why sign any of them to a new deal when you can just trade for Barclay Goodrow!

Would you like a $5m bottom 6 center with a French name? JG Pageau is your man.

Other GMs following the blueprint of the Panthers
Trade your highest scoring player and top airing defenseman for a pending UFA who will only sign with a few specific teams? Then the said winger needs to fall into the abyss the next season.

Joshua is going to get a deadly contract for himself.

Love seeing these late bloomers become good players that all teams want and earn themselves massive contracts... Such a cool thing to see certain players EARN themselves a nice contract and not just be handed one for their potential
Joshua is a really interesting hockey player.
I watched every game he played last season, and a bit before that.

He has a really unique skill set. It’s actually very similar to someone like zack Hyman who would probably be the best comparable.

He’s very inconsistent right now, which is why he has not shown his true talent until last season.

No doubt he is a late bloomer, but at the same time he’s a player that badly needs to get pushed, which is something Rick did all season last year.

He’s very inconsistent, if he figures it out, his ceiling is extremely high, but if not, you’re looking at a pretty average third liner.

He has strength, physicality, skating is pretty good, and honestly, he has nice hands, he just needs to put it all together.

Would be a decent gamble for a team

I don't mind if the Sabres overpay for Joshua. As long as the term isn't to much he is exactly the type of playoff player Buffalo needs.

Crystsl balls say-' Buffalo sign him, he falls, KA needs to be fired for such a decision by the sabres board for overpayment

What one is that? I thought it was burned/shredded

On the most recent 32 thoughts Friedman says it will be a good year to be a dman, as they're going to get paid and so are depth forwards who can play up and down your lineup. Mentioned Joshua as the main one, but listed others.

Trenin, Joshua, Duhaime, Martinook, Noesen and such are going to get paid.
Outside of Vancouver and a bit in this market, Joshua is getting massively overrated.
Don't get me wrong he's a good player but not a 3-4 million good.

The good. Played well on the pk,
The line he played on provided tons of energy.
He hits a lot.

The bad.
Not bad defensively 5on5, not great.
Penchant for taking really dumb penalties
Often he chased the big hit, putting himself in the box or out of position.
All those things can be fixed if he puts in the work but the two biggest issues and the reason I think filling his spot internally are,
He's very, very, inconsistent and I really believe that Garland and Lindholm later on made him look good. Full credit for him being able to finish the chances they created but he did have an outlier shooting%, if that goes back down combined with very little playmaking skills, his game quickly becomes that of a 4th line energy guy that can hit and kill penalties. Nothing wrong with that at all but that's a 2 million player not a 3-4 million guy.

As for him being a playoff guy, he had a good game 1 in both series but other than that I thought he was rather disappointing.

He reminds me of Jake Virtanen without the speed and like Jake he likely gets paid off an outlier season.

I think Podkolzin playing a full season (especially with Lindholm) can not only replicate what Joshua did last year but he can better it since he's a better playmaker
Podz can hit, play good defense and in 2021- 2022, showed an ability to score and create with the right role as well as in Abby,, especially before he had the head injury and once he was back to 100%. All for a million bucks.

Sammy Blais is gunna be a real nice, cheaper consolation prize somewhere. Hasn't broken out yet but also hasn't had much of a chance in the playoffs. I'm hoping he reunites with Berube

this is a wild take considering Podkolzin can't skate well and currently isn't an NHLer, let alone a third liner.

Here in MTL, we have a slightly used Anderson.

He's big, he skates like the wind and likes to crash the net (well, he used to like it)...

Brain not included...
