Just remembering how much I loved Marner when he was on his rookie deal, now I despise him. What a disaster he has been since getting paid on his ridiculous contract. Can't wait until he is gone. Are there any teams in the league dumb enough to trade for this guy?

It's Dubas' fault.
It was plain as day, I said it many many times.
He was never going to live up to his contract.
I said this before he signed.
Dubas should have bridged on his terms in a show me contract.
If Marner demanded more, he sits until traded.
Not hard.
The only reason marner got his deal is because of dubas and matthews.
Auston had a career high of 63 points and 2 PO points the previous season.
Marner had a 94 point season and 9 points in the last PO.
Guess which one signed for more money and less term?
Marner will be making so many people eat crow next year.

Now, in a world where: nobody is offering us anything good, or Dubas has decided not to trade him...
Can we picture an outcome where we are successful? I think I can envision Mitch scoring 2-3 goals in a playoff series...But I can't picture them winning the series lol. Shop Mitch Dubas, we're broke as a joke and can't fill 95% of a roster with 50% of our available cash.

You have a fox, a chicken, and a bag of seeds that you need to raft across a stream. You can only raft 1 item at a time across the river. If you leave the fox alone with the chicken, the fox with eat it. If you leave the chicken alone with the seed, the chicken will eat it. How do you get everything along safely if Mitch is the seed, and Dubas is the fox, and the seed....wait...what?

going off one page in this new thread im pretty happy i skipped all the past threads lol.
If he does it in the playoffs, nobody will be happier than leaf fans. We all know how much he can dominate during the regular season. The issue is not showing up in the playoffs.

Dude this is ATOM level stuff .. kids pass this level by peewee .. any kid with a shot at da show has learned/practiced all of this and more by peewee .. da trick is to draft guys with 90 mile per hour shots who can develop into 100 mile per hour in their 20ies with core strength training .. we drafted guys with 65-7o mile per hour shots who may get er up to 75-80 in their 20ies which is not enough in today's game .. Roberston has a decent 85 mile per hour one which could get up close to 100 with development and age

That is a a contradiction, by definition Leaf fans can't be happy, by design they have to bitch about something or they will explode.

Marner can play like Wayne Gretzky and it wouldn’t matter because we don’t have the cash to surround him with the guys needed to win playoff rounds. It seriously comes down to money it’s nothing to do with how good of a player he is.
Leafs haven't won a cup since there were 6 teams. Haven't made a SCF either. 0 playoff series wins in 17 years. It's not the fans. Tbe fact that Toronto has the largest fanbase in the sport is a testament to loyalty/insanity.

I really want to know what Dubas means by drafting skill all the time. Does he mean shot? does he mean playmaking? So far all I see is tiny guys who get bumped off the puck easily and lose board battles against much bigger guys. If you want skill...shooting is a skill too.

Right!? The whole Leaf fans are so impatient, always complain, never happy etc. Seriously!? The team is a laughing stock. And this new flashy regular season version, perennial playoff chokers who will not put the effort in to win. Players have called the team out ffs it's not just the fans
