The Clutterbuck Appreciation Thread

It was still a bad trade value wise but Cluttebuck is a really good glue guy to have. Nice bottom six forward who kills penalties skates pretty well hits everything and has a pretty good shot.

Clutterbuck is a guy you want in the playoffs. Players rally behind him, tell me that happens for Nina? Worth more than his perceived value in a trade.

Is it wrong to take the "A" off of KO's sweater and give it to Cal now? I know it is but still...

There better be no doubt next year though

This really is a good point. He's a leader, zero doubt about that. With Okposo gone (and Hamonic gone:cry:) they won't have a choice who else to give it to.

He's got a great shot too, which was seen tonight. I wouldn't be against giving him some spot PP2 duties. He will shoot, that's for sure.

Just an absolute beauty hockey player. Hell probably beat the rags all by himself in the playoffs.

Love Clutterbuck, especially this season. It's always tempting to move him up the lineup, but I wonder if his effectiveness would diminish with more minutes. You want him going all out every shift. That's what makes him great so I would be weary of giving him too many minutes.

At one point during the broadcast, they showed Cal on the bench visibly frustrated and yelling what appeared to be up and down the bench. Definitely someone who sets the bar for those among him. Even better that he scored the game winner.

I remember when Clutterbuck got a game misconduct for jawing at an official during our lengthy shootout against the Lightning two years ago. And this was long after we had been eliminated from the playoffs. You certainly can't fault his battle level!

yes, great game for Cal! Not that I am wishing injury to DM. Hope he's ok; but Cal is a fearless hitter and a tough competitor and it showed today.

I think we did them more of a favor there, it's like Kreider sending Strait to Mars.

I don't think any Ranger fans (except for the casual ones who don't understand hockey), where shedding any tears.

I love how whenever he scores a big goal, he goes right up to Jaro after the bench and gives him a "don't worry I got you" tap on his pads. I've never seen a player do that more than Clutterbuck.

I freaking love this guy.

I told my brother about that. Whatever it was he was FURIOUS. He was absolutely screaming till he was literally red in the face. Guy is a beaut!

Also depends if hammer ultimately stays. IF(big if obviously) he stays, who do you give the other A to when KO leaves? Boychuk or Hammer?
My vote? ----> Bailey.

Honestly, at this point, I'm not trading Hammer if I'm GS. I'd tell him that I'm real sorry, I'll be happy to work out an arrangement where you can take a random game off to go deal with whatever you need to deal with but we need you here.

I missed that, do you roughly remember when it happened? Would like to see it.

Did you catch when he punched Frans in the chest as he was coming off the ice and Clutter was trying to get on. Right after the horrible non-call. Clutter is intense.

I did see that. His mannerisms are wonderful. What a great way to "lose" that trade.
