Not most, all of the league lol let’s be real
NFL, CFL, spring leagues, every league depends on good QB play. Just not getting enough of it.

Losing a Rourke to the NFL PS hurts. He's making like $8K USD per week on the 18 week schedule so that is $144K per year in USD, so close to $200K or so CAD. If he gets activated onto the main roster, his game check is probably around $40K USD for that week.

18 week season is excruciating long for a bad team like EDM has been.

We end the month of July with CFL Week 8.

Saskatchewan (5-1) at Montreal (5-1) Thu. 7:30PM ET
  • Both teams are first in their divisions right now so possible Grey Cup preview? The Alouettes having Cody Fajardo still injured does take a little bit of juice out of this matchup however.
Calgary (3-3) at Ottawa (4-2) Fri. 7:30PM ET
  • The Stampeders are 3-0 at home and 0-3 on the road. (I'm already sensing a bad trend). The RedBlacks are also unbeaten at home and the injury problems in Montreal could really open the door for Ottawa in the East.
Winnipeg (2-5) at Toronto (3-3) Sat. 7PM ET
  • The Argos have a little bit of a QB controversy with Cameron Dukes coming back to earth. Nick Arbuckle might be a better option against the Bombers who still seem to be in a bit of an early season funk.
Hamilton (1-5) at Edmonton (0-6) Sun. 7PM ET
  • An early contender for the CFL's tank bowl. (would've been better if the TiCats didn't win last week but alas). At least Hamilton managed to win a close game, something they still can't figure out in Edmonton right now.
Bye Week - BC (5-2). A one point loss in Calgary probably shouldn't be too much for the Lions to sweat about (BC will face Calgary again in Week 18). They'll come out of their bye week with a somewhat soft schedule having a pair Winnipeg games sandwhiched around an Edmonton date.

That Argos/Bombers game was painful to watch. Bombers couldn't stop turning the ball over and the Argos couldn't capitalize on pretty much any of them aside from the pick 6. Was a dramatic game though, came down right to the end.

And the Bombers got screwed. They definitely got a 1st down on the 3rd and 1.

Looks like there are 4 teams in the CFL that aren't crap. Montreal, Saskatchewan, Ottawa and BC. So far Ottawa has played 1 of them and the Als blew them out. That was early though so we will see what happens in the next few weeks.

Ford needs to be starting in Edmonton... I would be so pissed if I were and Edmonton fan and was forced to watch another snap from 36 year old Bethel-Thompson....

Not sure if the plan is to wait until the season is absolutely over to make the change or what.

Even if Ford turns out not to be the guy, you'll never find out if you just wait to throw him in at the end of games when they are out of reach.

The guy must've really pissed off a lot of the coaching/management staff.

Which whatever if you are mad at him then get rid of him. But he's on your team so buckle down and deal with his bullshit and see if he can be a positive addition on the field. Heck, maybe him actually getting played will change his attitude and mentality.

i mean they're 0-7. They would have to go minimum 8-3 down the stretch to be anywhere near the playoff conversation since 8-10 looks like it would probably be enough with how Calgary and Winnipeg are playing. We've seen some crazy turnarounds in this league but that seems a bit too much.

It's basically over. Stop wasting time with mid ass Bethel-Thompson and let Ford get an extended look.

The first weekend in August is a long weekend in most of the country so let's get to CFL Week 9.

BC (5-2) at Winnipeg (2-6) Thu. 8:30PM ET
  • The Bombers sluggish season means this matchup doesn't have the lustre it had earlier in the year. It's still an important game nonetheless with the Lions battling Saskatchewan for first in the West, and Winnipeg looking to stay in the playoff hunt.
Montreal (6-1) at Hamilton (2-5) Fri. 7:30PM ET
  • There's finally some good vibes in Hamilton with the Tiger-Cats winning their first two games of the season. They'll have their hands full this week however as the Alouettes have Cody Fajardo coming back from the injured list.
Edmonton (0-7) at Saskatchewan (5-2) Sat. 7PM ET
  • Once again the Elks are terrible, and once again Tre Ford is proving to be the better option at QB for Edmonton. Probably should've been the starter already, but he will get the call for them when they visit Regina.
Toronto (4-3) at Calgary (3-4) Sun. 7PM ET
  • Two rather average teams go at it in a home-and-home set. The Argos QB situation could get really interesting as Chad Kelly is potentially just a couple of weeks away from coming back from his suspension.
Bye Week - Ottawa (5-2). There's a lot of reasons for optimism in the nation's capital. The RedBlacks this season have already surpassed their win totals from the past few seasons, and Ottawa is 4-0 at home for the first time since the 1978 Rough Riders.

CFL reffing/Command Center is just AWFUL this year. I'm actually cheering for Hamilton in this one, but that non overturn was beyond the pale.

First, why was it blown dead? LET THE PLAY PLAY OUT AND DECIDE AFTER! I could understand a wrong call after but let the play then decide.

Second, how can command center say no immediate recovery? Like that's immediate as can be. Makes no sense.

Reffing has been consistently BAD this year. Bombers got the good end of it yesterday with the Ontaria Wilson catch that definitely wasn't a catch. But there was a call in the CalgaryvsBombers game where the ref ruled no catch from 70-80 yards away when the 5 closer refs saw Demski catch it, and the horrible no PI call in ArgosvBombers that led to a Argos TD.

It's getting to be a real problem for the credibility of the league.

Davis Alexander is no longer a thing. Woof.
He started slowly but he is doing quite well despite the offensive line being garbage.

What the hell has immediate recovery got to do with anything? If there is a fumble whoever ends up with the ball should have possession.

When you blow the play dead players stop. Which was the refs big mistake here. But when it happens you gotta deal with it somehow. So when a fumble happens but it's blown dead, it must be clear immediate recovery in immediate aftermath of the play for one team in order to make a ruling. Otherwise it can be argued you are punishing players for not playing after the play. Start that and youd have just an all outright brawl after every play lol. But that was as immediate recovery as you can get.

And now they call pass interference on a play when the Als defender never even touched the receiver.
