Good to know the team is blameless in that little drama.
You're right, we should have healthy scracthed him or played him on the 4th line. That was the much better option. Diva Kravtsov wouldn't have acted out.

Giving in to a kid, in fear he might throw a tantrum when you're asking him to do something reasonable? yeah... Kravtsov blew it.

It’s ironic we added all this toughness yet our goalies are getting ran, our tough players are getting slewfooted, etc. Buchnevich would’ve responded much more aggressively to any of these incidents than any of these tough guys we brought in.

I think he would’ve signed for cheaper than what he did in STL too, the guy is still clicking like on Rangers posts, and was literally on our Instagram livestream during our home opener commenting crying emojis. That is not normal. I bet he will be a wreck during his video tribute at the Garden. He loved being a Ranger and it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up one again later in his career

The second paragraph could be copy and pasted from threads after Zucc was traded. Somehow we survived. We need to collectively move on folks

The trade was a shock but looking at the total picture in context I was fine with it and I'm still fine with it. Slewfoot injuries are not predictable.

very plsd w/Blais ... pleasant surprise
while obv they were wrong to not grab a 10OA ish value by dealing him earlier in which case I would have been happy to make a dif offer for Blais...

I would have preferred an additional 2nd w/Blais for Buch

That would have been nice but do we have any reason to believe that was available?

The Buch trade was made with the expectation that Blais + Kakko + Kravstov + Laf are all available for top 6 roles and that at least two of them would stay there, while the other two would get third line minutes or rotate in and out of the roster depending on performance I guess.

That turned out not to be the case - Laf was deemed a third liner for now (nothing wrong with that), Blais is out for the season before getting much chance to play on the top line, and Krav shot himself in the foot.

The organizational depth was there after the trade, but that was all before the Krav situation. If Krav took his NHL assignment, the team would have called him up after Blais' injury (if not sooner) and they would likely be in much better shape on the top line. Curious to see how Hunt does up there now.

Essentially, Drury may say that he didn't like the Krav pick when it was made, but the Buch trade was a bet on Krav making the team and being part of the Rangers' season at some point.

i Interviewed Rick Middleton and he said that he needed to go. He wasnt handling New York too well spending the nights with the likes of Derek Sanderson. But the trade and return was absolutely legendary trash.
