I know they've officially qualified for the playoffs, but did the Bolts jump the gun in painting the ice with the 'Stanley Cup Playoffs' logo?

Seems like an odd thing to do while the regular season is still going.

a few teams in the past have put it on the ice the moment they qualified for the playoffs

Know who else jumped the gun?

But actually, there's a lot of things going on at Amalie Arena this coming week; this was the only time they could do it really.

It's called being one of the busiest arenas in the world. Was the only time they would be able to put it on.

Deal with it.

Just so you know MOST nhl teams do this every year. The Sharks, Kings and many other bubble teams all ran commercials THIS SEASON saying those who buy season tickets next year get early access to playoff tickets.

Every team pretty much does/says this for season ticket owners. What Boston did was announce general pre-sale of tickets about 2 weeks before the end of the season before even clinching.

I can't fathom why you'd waste your valuable time telling the world that you don't care.

Ok. Why does it bother you? They aren't the only team to have ever done it, and they pretty much had to do it now, because the arena is booked solid with events and games.

Lol. Wtf does it matter? At least we weren't selling tickets before getting knocked out of the playoffs? Lolololol.

Amalie Arena is packed and that was the only time they were able to do it? Hmmm. :shakehead

Didn't have an issue with it but thought it was strange when I first saw it.

Just a guess, but someone told me it has to do with arena scheduling.

Apparently they have concert events and other things lined up for the days leading up to the 1st game so they wouldn't have had time to paint it all prior to puck drop.

IF the Bolts were the first time in a long time playoff team a la the Flambeaus, then maybe there might be a problem if you were a shut in.

However this isn't new for the Lightning, a complete no issue except in the minds of people that get outraged at everything.
