in respect to a trophy for the best overall dman? no idea. is this karlssen guy some dude who played defence in europe in the 50's? :allears:

This has been long over do.

The best defenseman award should be the "Robert Gordon Orr Trophy"!!!!
Its a no-brainer. I can't believe the NHL hasn't made this move.

Seems to me that the NHL owners would be widely resistant to naming a trophy after a former player who: (1) was one of the first to engage an agent (Alan Eagleson,unfortunately) in entry-level contract negotiations; (2) later became one of the first unrestricted free agents; and (3) now runs a player agent enterprise. The BOGs are kinda particular about such things.
