We just drafted our own Hughes in Clark.
Our only position of need is scoring winger.

Our top defense youngsters are Clarke, Mikey Anderson, Bjornfoot, Claque, Grans, Spence, Faber, Durzi, Kirsanov.
This is a crop, most NHL teams envy.

If someone wants one of our top picks, a scoring winger must come back.
Our 1st pick is untouchable though

Vancouver gets gutted for prospects who likely won't ever be as good as the players they're being traded for. And they eat a whack of cap for their troubles
What are you complaining about cap wise? The only cap they eat is Erik Johnson who would be the 2nd best defenseman on their roster if this trade were to occur.

Vancouver wins this for sure on value. Doesn't fit with their plans apparently. Which I don't agree with since all of Newhook, Turcotte, and Byram are NHL ready and on ELCs, their value is sky high. And a likely high 1st round pick next year in a strong draft? Pure value perspective this is robbery. They might take a step back this season but they're not a cup contender anyways. 2+ years down the line this trade would be a massive win.

Mediocre for Colorado and LA

Only thing I agree with OP is the choice of topic name for this discussion. Very well thought out pun.

The rest is something you’d only see if you did it in NHL 22 and even then you might have to set trade difficulty to Easy.

They're moving out two high-end NHL centers and an elite offensive defenseman for two prospect centers and a prospect defenseman and the opportunity to move up a dozen or so spaces in next year's draft. They also get to eat $5m in dead cap in each of the next two seasons and pay out the final year of Erk Johnson's contract.

This is awful for Vancouver.

Just look at what each piece would return individually to see how far this trade falls short.
