And I am sure Ovi and his family have been greatly rewarded for that. Ovi certainly is/was dancing with the devil but his comments today were fair, in my opinion.

Yeah not going to agree that the comments were fair. They were mumbled and he kept going back to being Russian and Putin is his president. He was coached on these comments and they still came out like the IIHF.

His family also apparently has strong Kremlin ties, along with his wife's father being an oligarch. He and everyone around him is very much apart of the Russian elite.

The ties go very deep. These are Ovi's choices to make, but like all choices they have consequences. Right now, he should have to answer for his choices and explain if he is on the side of Russia invading. I'm okay with giving Zadorov and Panarin a lot of leeway given their stances in the past. Others who haven't really spoken up at all, fine giving them some slack. The Varlamov/Malkin/Ovis of the world should have to speak.

Yeah, you never really hear much from Malkin despite being the second biggest Russian star in the past 15 years.
Panarin has balls though, very outspoken. And after reading his story on The Players Tribune a few years back I became a huge fan.

Also it's times like this where your life and problems really get put into perspective. Yeah, I stress a lot about affording a house one day. Gas prices, cost of living, inflation, all daily stressors.
But at the end of the day I go back to my warm apartment with all the amenities and comforts of a stable western society, something that's definitely taken for granted. Problems are relative but events like this really snap you out of your own head.

I'm saying that their movement shouldn't be scary. It is standard practice. The scary part should be that Russians can launch their ICBMs where they currently are and hit nearly anywhere.

Wonder if Putin really is a one man show or he has a bunch of people that thinks the same way behind him.
Like if something were to happen to Putin, would his successor follow the same path? If he's a one man show one would think that he'll get assassinated before sending the planet into a nuclear war.
