Not really... Russia is getting taken to the shed on the ground. Losing 80 tanks in a day is massive. If that was in a singular battalion, they'd be retreating.
There are rumors of alot of conscript soldiers getting forced into fighting or getting prison time. Also the whole mobile crematorium is wild. Morale is low.

I'd say the difference maker on the ground will be Chechens and . That said someone I know in 10th group told me there is alot of intel leaking out of SOF and Russian Forces in general. Gotta wonder if Russian Military personnel are trying to get this to end fast.

No questions about that. Guerrilla tactics seem to be fitting the Ukrainian army quite well, seeing a lot of pictures of Russia getting shredded on the main motor ways from ambushes.
Invading countries is incredibly difficult. Especially when Ukraine has built up their military like a Western military. Here is some context:

Chechens are F brutal in war. Legit the scariest part of any Russian ground force would be the Chechens.

War crimes man... I really really hope the world does the right thing.

This begs the question, with companies, sports clubs and even civilians speaking out against Russia. Is it the responsibility for Russian Athletes to speak up?

A number already are... we won't get Ovi to though.

Cut the Russian athletes some slack in this case. A lot of them have families in Russia. Would not ever put it past Putin to make life hell for those families if those athletes were to ever speak out against him.
Didn't stop a number of them to do so.

And that's incredibly brave of them. Just sayin', I'm not going to get all over Ovechkin's case if he doesn't speak out. I have found his political stances (Varly's too) to be highly problematic, however.
He's not speaking against it because he isn't against it. He's a brainwashed imbecile, the kind that there are too many off around the globe.

I hear this argument, but on the other side, the cozying up to Putin deserves extreme scorn. That helps enable the families being destroyed in Ukraine as we type. I think there is room for some slack for those who haven't done or said anything in the past, but we can't ignore those who have helped Putin through the years.

Man, after reading this thread, even the Injury Thread is a breath of fresh air! Scary stuff indeed. But seriously, I appreciate all of your "intel". I've certainly learned quite a bit the last several pages.

And @henchman24 , you are a fuggin nerd! lol

IMO Ovi deserves all the scorn thrown his way. He's been one of Putin's biggest cheerleaders then hides behind not being a politician. Can't have it both ways when it gets uncomfortable. And yeah Varly is another that should have scorn.

And yeah Ovi should be shipped home.

Hard to make friends when you blow up merchant ships not related to the conflict.

Ovi spoke today.

"It's a hard situation. I have family back in Russia and it is scary moments," Ovechkin said. "But we can't do anything. We just hope it going to be end soon and everything is going to be all right."

He added: "Please, no more war. It doesn't matter who is in the war — Russia, Ukraine, different countries — I think we live in a world, like, we have to live in peace and a great world."

Surprised he said no more war... that said, he stopped short of criticizing at all.. Didn't outright say he supported Putin, but pretty much said he did.

Yes but he also said I have family in Russia which pretty much means if I criticize Putin, someone will suffer. I am sure his reasons for buddying up with Putin are more for personal and family bennifits rather than agreeing with Putin's war moves.

You haven't been following his relationship with Putin much... Ovi has been his biggest cheerleader in sports.
