Fair enough. At the same time, saying they will make the playoffs and maybe do some damage there is a pretty bold prediction and even at full health, not likely to happen IMO. I mean this is Buffalo we're talking about, come on now. Not only are they widely considered to be a poor team, there are so many good teams in the division that making the playoffs would be an uphill battle, even for a better team than they are.
Fair enough but the sabres have some major cap space to add and valuable assets to improve the team. Maybe bold prediction but I still say with a healthy line up they could make the playoffs.

ur 100% wrong ... both those teams will finish with montreal bottom 3 again.
they have both already started there usualy november slide. besides the goaltending being substandard the defense outside there top guy (chabot and dahlin) is shockingly horrible

You think Buffalo's defence is shockingly horrible?

I think you'd hard pressed to find a better trio of young defensemen in the league than Rasmus Dahlin, Mattias Samuelsson and Owen Power.

That trio is going to be a big problem for the Atlantic Division for a long time.

Anything's possible I guess. Not sure they'd want to spend assets to improve the team in the short term unless they had at minimum, a very good shot at the playoffs. They may be out of contention long before they even start thinking in those terms though at which point it becomes all about next season, and maybe even tanking.

yes in 3 years time ill be worried
today its a problem , it takes a long time for even stud D men to develop........ even dahlin and chabot who are studs looked mediocre for 2 years.

The sabres are dealing with some major injuries to the blue line...that is why they have fallen...

Research Mr. 100% wrong dude!

sure, call me in feb when they are bottom 3.

They are down to 6th in the division now - watching last night's game, I think the Comrie experiment might be worth moving on from.

Wings projection looks to be a little bit of luck. I expect them to continue to fall.

Panthers finally matching their underlying numbers.

Leafs steadily rising, but GF continues to be a drag.

Tampa very middle of the pack.

Sens underlying numbers have been great all season, but this week they are starting to drop. Still average within the division.

Buffalo in a free fall. They need to get healthy, and they need goalie help ASAP.

I still think Ottawa can turn it around and make the playoffs.

And I still don't trust Boston. Every player is playing above expectations, the goalies most of all. It won't last forever.

Honestly, it kind of seems like Toronto, Tampa and Florida are a lot closer to Boston than the point projections show.

Buffalo will not falter this year...they look very good/confident. Also missing some key players and not impacting team. Plus they have cap room to spend and make meaningful trades with an accumulation of draft picks/top prospects in their system. They are making the playoffs and could do some damage.

Ottawa has played 3 less games so the standings could change. Sens also look decent and can change the standings this year.
lol

they had one of the thinest bluelines in the league.
without chabot and zub that team would be luck to not finish bottom 3 in the east

Yeah they're probably done barring a miraculous performance. Norris is out for the season most likely as well

Same old same old in atlantic folks .. i hope we get either florida or boston in playoffs .. do not want tampa in round 1 as vasi just too good for anything we got

Aaaand just like that the top 4 in the Atlantic are the same as usual. Surprise, surprise

Boston is riding quite the PDO bender, we need them to slow down soon. I still want first in the Atlantic

Does it really matter? We probably have to go through them to reach the final.

How important is it to win one round by missing them only to lose to them in the second?

I'm not saying that will necessarily happen, but if there's a team to avoid, I would say Boston because of how physical they are.

Montreal starting to come back to earth I think and sabers are tanking.

Sens are playing significantly worse then I thought they would be

They should look at our situation and realize the best chance at a cup is at the end of everyone's ELC before you need to pay them gobs of cash. Would be Smart to move now especially if you can get a couple guys with multiple years of team control

I doubt BUF is even thinking in terms of winning the cup in the next few years. Gotta walk before you can run and BUF is in the gotta crawl before you walk stage.

That is true. They've obviously built a great organization football wise with the same ownership will be interested to see how they can use that on the hockey side

I'm still banking on last place Ottawa moving up by the end of the season, probably to 5th in the division. I see Boston eventually dropping out of first place as the wear of the long season takes its toll of Boston's vets.

We need Ottawa to start winning more games...I couldn't stomach one of those top 3 added to their loaded forward core.
