Yzerman after taking a few months to survey the situation: We are going to make trades to acquire draft picks. Direct quote: "my plan isn't to be passive."
Hallelujah. I would have been much less critical of Holland if he wasn't so passive while the franchise became the worst in the league.
So far Yzerman hasn't collected a single pick to us.
Lost a 4th for Erne. So far, Yzerman is 1 pick on the negative side.
Ken Holland did collect:
- Nyquist - got 2 extra picks
- Jensen - picks went even, but got the higher 2nd for 5th.
- Tatar - got 3 extra picks
- Mrazek - got 1 extra picks (corrected, had 1 extra conditional never met = re-signing)
- Scott Wilson - got 1 extra pick
- Wilson - Sheahan trade went even, but Holland got the higher 3rd for lower 5th.
- Steve Ott - got 1 extra pick
- Vanek - got 1 extra pick
- Brendan Smith - got 2 extra picks
- Jurco - got 1 extra pick
- Datsyuk contract - Traded down for lower 1st - got 1 extra 2nd.
- Sadowy - lost 1 pick
- Kindl - got 1 extra pick
That's the Holland record on his final 4 seasons.
Lost 1 pick.
Gained 14 extra draft picks
Gained 2 higher picks in rounds.
Please inform me when the reality for Steve Yzerman will be the same.
