Good to know
Why’s he writing at the athletic then?
Isn’t that supposed to be solid reporting?
I assumed so cuz of paywall
Seems like the Athletic went from trying to be a high quality source when it first started poaching all the various "local" beat writers who were considered the best in their city, to one that just covers as much material and gets as many clicks as possible by adding any weirdo who happens to write or follow a specific team.

Rossi's articles are clickbait as witnessed by the fact this thread exists in the first place. It achieved its goal, which is to get a bunch of clicks and a bunch of people talking about it. Whether there's any actual journalistic integrity involved isn't as important as getting loads of views (and potential subscriptions).

“They not think I good player,”
“They not want me,”
“That’s not how we do things in Pittsburgh,”

Totally, 100% come off as authentic quotes. Sid and Geno always speak like they're in a Hallmark production.

I know we can't post full articles from the Athletic but wow, this is one hell of an article,

Some snippets:

And my favorite:

If you knew the type of low class writers Yohe and Rossi are you'd know that about 1% of that article is truthful.

To say they're idiots is offensive to idiots. We Pens fans don't even believe or read the shit they write. Odd to me that blokes post their shit as some sort of "Legit Pens source!"...

Nothing of substance comes from Rob And Josh. Nothing.

Apparently Geno texts like he's f***ing Grimlock from the 1984 Transformers show.

"Me no think too well, me brain hurt, why Sully no give players good...me angry, mama no make borscht for me now."

And Crosby? Wtf is he, Don f***ing Corleone?

"Teddy, you dealt Teddy? Look what they did to my beautiful boy, Geno. Not like this..."

It's like two morons writing fan fiction on something stupid like Tumblr and somehow idiots believe any of it.

Yes. 100% yes. Player legacies matter. I don't want to see 87, 71, or 58 playing in another city.

There are some fans that want to rush into the rebuild as though that guarantees anything. We could be Buffalo for the next 20 years depending on how the lottery balls bounce.

The rebuild will happen when it happens. No need to rush into it. And no need to get rid of legacy players to rush into it.

The east is really f***in good and the Pens might be collecting lottery picks soon even with this core still in place.
Sometimes..................said players want to go, be moved, and have another shot at a Cup.
Holding on to HOF type players too long, can be painful for all.
The Pens have had an amazing run the last 15 years, with 3 Cups.............no shame there at all.

Time for a rebuild. Status quo has not worked, and only going further south.

Looking forward to hearing the truth from Burkie at some point

In this case, said players do not want to move on. And in this case, said players are still performing at a pretty high level. There is no point in moving them just to rush into a rebuild that may or may not work. It's worth it to give it another shot. They will retire soon enough, and the rebuild will begin then. For now I would rather watch 3 of the best players in this franchise's history (as well as in league history) continue to perform at a high level. If this team is going to suck, I would rather watch them suck while still getting to see Sid and Geno play great hockey. Odds are this franchise will never have players of their caliber suit up for them ever again, or at least for a very long time.

100% confirming everything the Penguins board speculated on the past year.

Our HFBoards community literally knows more than Pittsburgh's top media.

Sure, but anyone who's even a little interested in the NHL as a whole knows that it's not the Penguins HoF players that's the problem on their roster. It's their abysmal bottom 6 and goaltending that's the problem. As long as Crosby and Malkin are PPG players it would be idiotic to blow it up and start a rebuild because there's extremely few teams that have two centers that are that productive.

Everyone knows the best hockey minds are found on this website. These clowns that have spent their entire adult lives in the hockey world have no idea what they are doing!

Absolutely, good points, but the easiest way to kickstart it all is if and that's if, one or all want out at some point to have a crack at another Cup......that was the only point I was trying to make.

I doubt that any of them would want to go and chase a cup in any other team at this point in their careers especially when both Letang and Malkin got their contracts last off-season and I would be very surprised if Crosby left Pittsburgh when his current contract is up.

Uh, how do they have text messages from Malkin to Crosby?

Seems to me there are like two guys in the world who could disclose those texts.

Rob Rossi calling people disliked and incompatant is rich. This coming from a guy tried to fight a 65 year old Jim Rutherford in an elevator once because he cost his butt buddies Ray Shero and Dan Bylsma their jobs.
