Certainly a less egregiously awful period than the first one, but we go through these long stretches where we are completely non-threatening on offense. Time just ticks off the clock.

Ice time for Steve Wright so far tonight after two periods: 8:15. He hasn't been on the ice for a goal against either.

Its obnoxious listening to national broadcasters blather on about Grubauer when they are clearly reading from press packets and dont know what's really been happening with the guy for going on 3+ seasons.

Eleven minutes is a long time. Sneak another goal here soon, and who knows what might happen?

How can he complain about something so obvious? Big opportunity here for the Kraken.

Would love to see them put some more goals on Stolarz, Kinda burned out on the HFLeafs acting like they somehow stumbled across prime Hasek nine years into a journeyman career arc...

Of active players, Marner is the third fastest to reach 500 assists behind McDavid and Crosby. I'm not a big Marner fan, but if I were he, I would frame that statistic and put it on my mantle piece.

6-4 manpower advantage with three minutes left. Could be fun.

...and I think Wright was nailed to the bench for the entire power play.

McCann takes a pass from the point, perfect spot for a one-timer...durdles around, passes it to the man below the goal line.

That's the sort of "sniper instinct" I'm saying he doesnt have. And it's a bummer.

I'm gonna be bummed when they inevitably send Fleury back down. He is playing well and deserves a spot on the bottom pair.

Does this mean Shane Wright’s new Kraken HF board nickname is Steve? We have Cups and Steve. Eventually if we play our cards right absolutely nobody outside of our board will know who we’re talking about. Seems like a great idea to me! Haha.

Would be awesome if we got a player named Steve and called him Shane.

Speaking of Steve, I’m not sure why he’s getting so little ice time. I just can’t fathom why. I think it’s Jessica who passes out PP time, and I just don’t get it.

Oh, my. Tis an example of what an extra dram of the Craythur will do to one's head. Seemingly a long-lasting effect, too, as when you mentioned Jessica, I immediately flashed to an image of Jessica Rabbit behind the bench.

I think Shane's line should be getting second line minutes, even selective first line minutes when they go on a hot streak. Not playing him during a 6 on 4, though, to me was mind-boggling.

You mean Steve's line. I agree though. It's an effective line that seems to be clicking somewhat despite low ice time. Him not getting ice time in those man advantage situations is really hard to fathom, considering how often he's the guy actually accomplishing the goal a team has in the game of hockey when with a man advantage.

I agree. He should be getting 2nd line minutes and I don't know why he is not being trusted with those? Maybe because they want to play Cups there?

Looking at some offensive stats for all skaters.

Points per 60 minutes: Wright ranks 3rd on the team
Assists per 60 minutes: Wright ranks 4th on the team
Expected Goals per 60 minutes: Wright ranks 3rd on the team
On-ice Goal differential: Tied for 1st with Bjorky at 16

He also has the highest SH% on the team. And all this without getting real PP time.

Why they are not utilizing him more for a team that is struggling to score, that makes little sense to me.

I kinda felt like TOI was screwy across the board last night but wasn’t sure if it was because they spent so much time in non 5v5 situations? At one point in the 3rd when I looked, Larsson was at almost 18 minutes TOI and both Mahura and Fleury were at like 9.

I understand that they won’t flat out “tank” but there’s no excuse for the ice time to be THAT stupidly lopsided towards a player who has honestly been kinda bad most of this season. Especially in an “expected loss” when it’s pretty clear the best possible outcome the remainder of this season is developing young players and seeing if players like Fleury or Mahura have futures with the squad beyond this season.
