The All Purpose Video Game Thread Part Iv

I never played Elder Scrolls outside of Skyrim, but the ES4: Oblivion remaster just came out yesterday and it looks incredible.

I’ve made it through the tutorial. It’s definitely still janky as hell (part of its charm) and runs worse than OG Skyrim, but it’s still a massive upgrade from the original game.

I got addicted to Skyrim once I figured out how to play. I don't want to get addicted, is this something you can casually play here and there? Right now I think I'm sticking with AC Shadows until Mario Kart World comes out.

It looked as expansive as Skyrim was, but I'd imagine you could pick it up for an hour or 2 at a time and still get plenty out of it.

I bought Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. Just messed around with some characters local vs with my son. It feels heavier / slower than KoF, and not sure what Christiano Ronaldo is doing here, but I still play Garou from time to time and this sequel hopefully has that kind of lasting impact.

i dont trust reviews anymore, but I am intrigued by this one, wish there was a demo i could try
Steam's refund policy is pretty lenient. You can own the game for up to 2-3 weeks, or play up to 2-3 hours and still get a full refund. That's how I always try out games I'm on the fence about and that window is usually more than enough to know if you'll enjoy the rest of the game.

That's my least favorite thing about PlayStation. Their refund policy is terrible. It only exists for preorders. If you preorder a game you can refund it up until either it downloads to your console or until the game releases. So like with Expedition 33 I got nervous, and turned off the pre-release download, because if reviews came out and it sucked, I would have already downloaded it so I couldn't get a refund. It's awful.

The new Fatal Fury is really technical for a fighting game. Lots of mechanics and systems. I might be getting too old and ragged in my fighting game skills these days for this, but that would mean I stand no chance at the upcoming Virtua Fighter game so I must persevere and shake off the rust.

That's such a bizarre policy, wtf? I miss just owning a cart/disc.

Reviews for that game look really solid at least, so I think you're safe. I just came across a comment that says "Getting to play this and Oblivion Remastered in the same week is like Barbenheimer."

Absolutely insane for a brand new studio to pull numbers like this, and this isnt enough counting all the people playing on Game Pass.

I’m starting tonight!
