Drouin has been more skilled than Zegras at every step. They both suck as NHLers.
Drouin who has never put up 60 pts despite playing with stars. Zegras has put up 60+ twice early in his career playing with shit. They may both have character issues. This year will be telling for Zegras.

That's where I was last year with Zegras.

But the deflating part for me was when he was finally healthy at the end of 23/24 and played with the US at the WC's... A different coach and with a lot more talent to play with and his performance was crap. You would have thought he would had more energy with a new coach and talented players to work with eh? Then this past year was more of the same.

Yeah, maybe Marty could have gotten more out of him but the Habs can't afford to add more soft skilled top 6 players. We have too many and we need to add in more warriors with skill/skating... especially at 2C.

Call me crazy but I feel there is more untapped potential with the bigger Dach. Yeah, we can go look at the point differences but with this struggling types, the most important is how they are in the 27-33 age range. That's where they tend to show their best.

Let's see what Hughes does in the next couple of weeks. Not getting Zegras doesn't mean Hughes wasn't interested, it could mean there's a better option that Hughes is targeting.

The Habs are after physical warriors with skill/skating more than a soft Zegras type that has skill. These fade in the playoffs and all we have to do is look how physical the Caps played us.

Go try and make a top 6 or top 9 roster with Zegras and you will see our flaws enhance more than improve. We are building a deep playoff roster, not an all star team like Dubas tried with the Leafs.

Call me crazy but I actually have more confidence in a Dach break out season than a Zegras break out season.
